AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/05 Report--
Tesla will recall 3470 2022 and 2023 Model Y electric vehicles in the United States due to the loosening of the second seat back frame of fixed vehicles, according to the latest documents from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
According to the contents of the document, the bolts on the second row seat frame of some vehicles are loose, increasing the risk of vehicle injury in the event of an accident. It is worth noting that the loosening of the seat frame screws not only causes the seat frame to rattle during the normal operation of the vehicle, but also has the risk of preventing the seat from folding correctly. Loose bolts may also cause the seat belt system to not function properly in a collision, thus increasing the risk of passenger injury.
Tesla said in the recall application that the problem was discovered in December last year and began an investigation. To date, five warranty claims that may be related to these situations have been identified, but there have been no related casualties. Users need to check the bolts that secure the second row of driver and passenger side seat back frames to the lower seat frame and tighten them carefully, it said. At the same time, it is pointed out that the supplier of seat back frame for Tesla has implemented improved training and supervision in December last year, and strengthened the control of product quality to ensure that the bolt torque produced is up to standard. Tesla estimates that 4 per cent of Model Y cars produced in 2022 and 2023 may be affected.
