The pricing of Xiaopeng P7i is particularly crucial. on the one hand, the pricing of Xiaopeng P7i determines its future development trend to a certain extent under the background of "volume" in various automobile companies. On the other hand, Xiaopeng is still in the trough, and the P7, as the sales model of Xiaopeng, urgently needs to return to the mainstream market.

The starting price of 249900 yuan is not exaggerated, but at this time, the current market environment of P7i is very different from that when P7 was released. More and more new forces, Chinese new energy brands and joint venture brand new energy brands are aimed at this market space, and the market environment will change from blue sea to red sea. Therefore, whether P7i can lead Xiaopeng back to the top again still needs to be seen step by step, which is particularly difficult, according to the Tramway report.

P7 is the second model launched by Xiaopeng Motor, and it is also the best-selling model of Xiaopeng Motor. Although Xiaopeng P7 has been on the market for some years, its degree of heat has not abated. In 2022, for example, Xiaopeng delivered a total of 120757 new cars, of which 59066 P7 models were delivered, accounting for 60 per cent of Xiaopeng's total annual delivery.

Xiaopeng car changes for P7, which is not only the trend of products, but also the trend of sales. 2021 is Xiaopeng's "highlight moment". In this year, Xiaopeng delivered a total of 98155 new cars, pressing Kilai and ideal, and firmly ranked first in the new force of car-building, but in 2022, Xiaopeng's delivery volume suddenly encountered Waterloo. Although the annual delivery reached 120757 vehicles, it was surpassed by ideal, Ulai, Nezha and other new force companies, not even half of the annual sales target set by themselves.

Xiaopeng car sales have been in the doldrums in the past two months. A total of 11228 new cars were delivered from January to February in 2022, of which 6010 were delivered in February, down 3.41 per cent from a year earlier, according to official data.

As a medium-term revamped model, the P7i continues the design style of the current model, but it has changed greatly in terms of intelligent driving ability, vehicle performance and handling, charging and energy consumption efficiency and the digital level of the whole vehicle. From the overall appearance, the core upgrade of the P7i is the addition of two 126-line lidars at the headlamp position. Due to the addition of lidar, the size of the P7i in the headlight area is slightly larger than that of the old model, and uses full LED headlights, which not only has a higher brightness, but also has a 20% higher high-light range than the old model.

According to officials, the P7i is equipped with a second-generation intelligent driving assistance system, XNGP, and two lidars are added to the sensor. The intelligent driving assistance chip is equipped with a dual Orin-X chip, which provides 508TOPS high computing power. In addition to two lidars, the P7i is equipped with five millimeter wave radars and 12 cameras (4 look around cameras, 2 side front cameras, 2 side rear cameras, 2 binocular cameras, 1 rearview camera, 1 car intelligent camera). A total of 31 intelligent sensing elements. Based on the above upgrades, P7i can achieve "panoramic driving assistance", including high-speed NGP, urban NGP, LCC enhanced version and other intelligent auxiliary driving.

In terms of interior decoration, the overall interior design of the P7i is not very different from the old model, but a new interior color called "Qiyu Grey" has been added. The P7i still has a 10.25in full LCD dashboard and 14.96in central control screen size, but it has been replaced with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 intelligent cockpit chip, which makes the response speed and fluency of the car system much better than that of the old model.

In terms of power, the P7i will still offer two options: single-motor rear-drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive. Among them, the rear-drive model is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with maximum power 203kW and peak torque of 440 N ·m, and the acceleration time of 0-100km / h is 6.4s; the four-wheel drive model is based on the rear-drive model by adding an induction asynchronous motor to drive the front wheel, the system integrated power 348kW, comprehensive torque 757N ·m, and the acceleration time of 0-100km / h is increased to 3.9s. In addition, the P7i still uses the front double-arm and rear five-link independent suspension.

According to the plan, Xiaopeng will launch five new cars this year, with a cumulative delivery target of 200000. Whether the new Xiaopeng P7i can survive in this industry-wide price war and lead Xiaopeng to get back on track will be worthy of attention.
