On the evening of March 17, GV60, a brand new model of the Genisse brand, was officially launched, with a total of two models, starting from 285800 yuan for the deluxe version and 351800 yuan for the flagship version.

The new car is based on the E-GMP pure electric platform and is the first model of the Genisse brand based on the pure electric platform, positioning the pure electric medium-sized cross-border SUV. As a cross-border SUV model, the appearance design of the new car is also very different from the conventional SUV model design on the market, and the maximum CLTC mileage can be up to 645km.

Specifically, in terms of appearance, the new car is mainly simple design style. The front face of the new car no longer uses Genisse's iconic shield middle net design, but adopts a new design style. the front face only retains the broad intake grille in the lower part, which makes the visual effect more concise and atmosphere. the iconic double-layer split headlights on both sides above are sharp in shape and highly recognizable.

On the side of the body, the whole streamline of the new car is also different from the traditional SUV model. The new car uses a compact body shape with a slippery back design, with the roof pressed back from the front and a slippery back shape at the rear, which looks more athletic. At the same time, the new car also uses hidden door knobs and face recognition access functions. The new car also has ingenuity to decorate the eyebrows and the lower edge of the body in a different color from the body, and the large-size polished wheel design makes the whole car look wild. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4515/1890/1580mm and the wheelbase is 2900mm. For comparison, the length, width and height of Tesla Model Y are 4750/1921/1624mm and the wheelbase is 2890mm. In contrast, the length, width and height of the new car is smaller than that of Model Y except that the wheelbase is more than 10mm. In the rear part, the shape of the rear part of the new car is more round and the lines are simple, and the taillight group also adopts a split design, which echoes with the front face. The new car is also equipped with black spoiler and embedded through-type high brake lights to create a strong sense of movement. The rear surround adopts two-color layered design to enhance the identification of the new car.

In the interior part, the interior design of the new car continues the brand concept of "the beauty of leaving blank". It is equipped with a double screen design with a full LCD dashboard connected with the central control multimedia display screen. The LCD instrument can not only routinely display driving information and driving assistance information, but also display the image behind the side of the vehicle in the instrument. In addition, the new car is also equipped with a double-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a unique crystal ball shift, and many circular design elements are used in the car to make the car feel more scientific and technological.

In terms of power, the deluxe version of the new car is equipped with single-motor rear drive (RWD) system and provides dual-motor four-wheel drive (AWD) system with a maximum power of 233.9 kilowatts, while the flagship model is equipped with dual-motor all-wheel drive system (AWD) and dual-motor all-wheel drive high performance system (AWD) with a maximum power of 360kW.

In terms of the positioning and price of the new car, the new car mainly focuses on the price range of 28-350000, and mainly competes with Tesla Model Y (price range of 26.19-361900) and Audi Q4 e-tron (price range of 28.99-377100 yuan) after launch.

GENESIS, an independent luxury brand of Hyundai Motor Group of Korea, was established in November 2015 and officially entered the Chinese market in April 2021. Although the Genisis brand has only been in the Chinese market for about two years, it has successively laid out a number of models in China. According to the official website, its domestic products include G70, GV70, G80, GV80 and GV60 models.

Although there are many products of Genisseth, but limited by the relatively small number of brands, the development of Genisse in the domestic market is not smooth. According to the new car compulsory insurance purchase data, the cumulative domestic sales of Genisys in 2022 are only 1457. Among the subdivided models, the sales of G70, G80 and GV80 are 226,832 and 399 respectively.

In November 2022, Genisese unveiled three pure electric models, the G80, the GV70 and the GV60. In addition to the GV60 model, the other two models have also made their debut before. Among them, the G80 of the medium-sized pure electric sedan made its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in 2021, and the GV70 of the medium-sized pure electric SUV made its debut at the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show.

After the official launch of the new model GV60, it means that Genisse will also enter the new track and compete with domestic brands. Previously, Genisse announced that all new models would be pure electric models by 2025, with 100% zero emissions by 2030 and net zero carbon emissions by 2035. As to whether the GV60 model can reopen the development of the Genisis brand after its launch, there may be an answer coming to the surface soon.
