On March 23, the Automobile Dealers' Chamber of Commerce of the all-China Federation of Industry and Commerce posted on its official WeChat account that it called for an appropriate delay in the implementation of the national 6B emission standard. The content of the article said: since the beginning of the year, we have received a lot of responses from car dealer groups because of the great pressure on the survival of the national 6B emission standard, which is about to be fully implemented. To this end, Quanlian car dealers conducted a special survey to nearly 100 domestic automobile dealer groups. According to the survey results, nearly 98.89% of automobile dealer groups strongly recommend that the implementation of the national 6B emission standard be postponed to January 1, 2024, leaving relatively sufficient switching time for automobile engine factories and dealers. digest the existing inventory of new cars that do not meet the national 6B emission standards.

At the same time, the article said that according to most of the car dealers, if the national 6B emission standards are fully implemented on July 1, it will be difficult to fully digest the existing inventory. The main reasons are: at this stage, car dealers do not meet the national sixth B emission standards of new car inventory of hundreds of thousands of vehicles, just to digest the existing inventory will face tremendous pressure. At the same time, because the automobile main engine factory has not completely completed the switching from the national sixth A standard to the national sixth B standard, there are still new cars sent by the automobile main engine factory that do not meet the national sixth B emission standard. Secondly, the overall car market is in the doldrums, fuel vehicles are facing greater pressure. In addition, unprecedented subsidies for car purchases have been launched in some areas in March, although the sales volume of some regions and some brands has increased in a short period of time, but from a national point of view, this move has significantly increased consumers' mentality of holding money to buy and waiting for the subsidy policy of price reduction, and the mood of consumers holding money to wait and see is serious.

Based on the above reasons, all auto dealers on behalf of the majority of automobile dealers appeal: appropriately postpone the implementation of the national 6B emission standards to January 1, 2024, the automobile main engine factory will stop producing new cars that do not meet the national 6B emission standards as soon as possible, allocate the existing new cars that do not meet the national 6B emission standards to the dealers as soon as possible, and take corresponding measures and introduce corresponding subsidy policies to face the pressure of destocking with the dealers. In addition, according to the Netcom news agency, it has learned from the all-China Federation of Industry and Commerce Automobile Dealers Chamber of Commerce that it is issuing a document on behalf of major manufacturers, calling for the national six emission policy to be extended to 2024, and the mainframe manufacturers will stop producing five new cars and issue a five-country inventory concession policy.

It is understood that the implementation of the sixth national emission standard is mainly divided into two stages. the first stage, national 6a, has been implemented on July 1, 2020, while national 6b will be implemented on July 1 this year. "National sixth" is the abbreviation of "National sixth stage Motor vehicle Pollutant Emission Standard". Its purpose is to prevent and control motor vehicle pollution emission and improve environmental air quality. For light vehicles, the national six a standard has stricter emission limits for CO, NOx, PM, NMHC and THC, as well as increased requirements for N2O and PN particulate emissions.

On the other hand, the national 6B emission standard has a clear limit on the emissions of harmful substances such as carbon monoxide, carbon oxides, dust and soot emitted from automobile exhaust, requiring that the emission of carbon monoxide, non-methane hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides and pm fine particles per kilometer should not exceed 500mg, 35mg, 35mg and 3mg respectively. Therefore, National sixth B is also called one of the strictest policies to control automobile pollutant emissions. At present, although most of the mainstream automobile enterprises have carried out technical reserves in advance according to the national sixth stage, because there is still a lot of subsidy in the measured scene compared with the laboratory, the real road condition test has higher requirements for parts manufacturers and main engine factories, which also leads to some enterprises still staying in the national sixth year stage.

It is worth noting that since the first shot of the car price war was opened in Hubei in early March, according to incomplete statistics, more than 40 car brands have participated in the price war, covering more than 100 models. For the unprecedented car price reduction, some industry insiders pointed out: national sixth B is coming, car dealers will have to face the challenge of how to quickly get rid of inventory, so it is necessary to reduce prices to increase sales. After all, at present, many domestic dealers still have a lot of new cars in stock, and with the arrival of July 1, these new cars may not be able to be licensed because they do not meet the new emission standards. at that time, it is bound to affect the sale of vehicles.

Of course, car companies have joined the price war, which is undoubtedly a good thing for consumers, which can save the cost of buying cars, but not so good for dealers. According to the 2022 survey of car dealers' losses released by all United Auto dealers, about 55% of the car dealership groups suffered operating losses or serious losses in 2022, and only less than 20% of the dealers made a profit. In addition, according to incomplete statistics, more than 2000 4S stores will close and withdraw from the Internet in 2022.
