In terms of interior decoration, the new Tuyue also uses the latest design language of the Volkswagen family, with a large floating touch screen with a combination of 10.25-inch full liquid crystal meter and 12-inch suspended central control screen, and a built-in Volkswagen's latest car system to support Apple's CarPlay interconnection. At the same time, the air conditioning outlet shape has also been redesigned, using the latest Volkswagen style steering wheel, and equipped with double color seats.

In the power part, the new Tuyue offers 1.5T and 2.0T power options. Among them, the 1.5T engine has a maximum power of 118kW and a maximum torque of 250Nm, compared with the old Tuyue 1.4T EA211 engine, the maximum power of the 2.0T engine is 137kW and the maximum torque is 320Nm. In terms of transmission, the DQ200 7 speed dry double clutch transmission matched with the 1.5T engine and the DQ381 7 speed wet double clutch transmission matched with the 2.0T engine.

In the compact SUV market, SAIC-Volkswagen has only one product for a long time. No matter how powerful its products are, it is still somewhat uncompetitive compared with aggressive competitors of the same level. Injecting fresh blood into the compact SUV market is an urgent task for SAIC-Volkswagen in this level of market. So, in October 2018, SAIC-Volkswagen launched the new compact SUV-- Tuyue.

Judging from the market performance, Tuyue's performance in the market is not bad. In 2022, SAIC-Volkswagen's top-selling SUV model was the Tuguan L, with annual sales of 143385 vehicles, followed by Tuyue with 120561 vehicles. The third largest seller is Tuang, with annual sales of 49965 vehicles, positioning as a medium-to-large SUV.

As a joint venture brand classic compact SUV model, the market competition of Tuyue model is also quite fierce. Combined with the market price and market positioning of Tuyue, competitors are basically unchanged, still dominated by Japanese brand compact SUV, including Toyota RAV4 Rongfang and Nissan Qijun, and so on. However, Toyota adopts a two-car strategy in market segments. For example, FAW Toyota has both RAV4 and KarolaRuifang, and Guangzhou Automobile Toyota has both Fenglanda and Weilanda, which undoubtedly increases the difficulty level for Tuyue, which is fighting alone.
