Red Flag has planned three SUV models, HS5, HS7 and an all-electric vehicle E-HS3, which are expected to be launched this year. Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the declaration information of Hongqi HS7. The car is positioned as a medium and large SUV with a wheelbase of 3008 mm. The power will be equipped with a 3.0T V6 supercharged engine.

On the appearance, Red Flag HS7 adopts Red Flag's iconic large size straight waterfall air intake grille, and the middle grille trim is painted in red, which just echoes Red Flag LOGO.

On the side of the body, the new car is outlined with multiple straight lines and equipped with double five-spoke rims. From the rear, the tail lamp group of the new car is more regular in shape, with LED light strip inside. In terms of body size, HS7 length, width and height are 5035/1989/1778mm respectively (height of air suspension model is 1756mm), wheelbase is 3008 mm. Compared with Audi Q7, Hongqi HS7 is slightly smaller in length and larger in other size aspects.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with CA6 GV 30TD 3.0T V6 supercharged engine, which is said to be independently developed by FAW Hongqi. The maximum power is 337 horsepower (248 kW) and the peak torque is 445N·m. It adopts in-cylinder direct injection, clutch water pump, water-cooled exhaust manifold, variable tumble flow and other technologies, which have both performance and fuel economy. Matching it is the Aixin 8-speed automatic gearbox, which is expected to be equipped with a four-wheel drive system.

In 2018, the annual sales volume of Hongqi brand reached 33,000 vehicles, which was the highest sales volume in previous years, among which Hongqi H5 contributed more than 20,000 units. With the launch of the Red Flag brand HS5 and HS7 SUV models, sales of the Red Flag brand will be further boosted.
