The new car exposed this time is a replacement model after seven years of Buick LaCrosse. The new car is expected to be released in the first half of this year, starting at around 200000 yuan.

From the exposed interior control layout, the new car uses Buick's latest multi-screen cockpit design, equipped with a 30-inch integrated 6K high-definition curved screen and a new four-spoke multi-function steering wheel, the overall design style is very similar to Buick Century. The difference is that the new car uses a new shifter mechanism to reserve more storage space in the area, while the central control handrail module adopts a hierarchical design to further expand the storage space and support the wireless charging function of the mobile phone. In the interior design material, the center console and the door panel area are wrapped in two-color leather, and the door panel is integrated into part of the perforated leather, which is obviously improved compared with the cash model in the luxurious atmosphere.

According to the previous report of Automotive Industry concern, the new car first appeared in the new car declaration catalogue of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in December last year. In terms of appearance, as a replacement model, the new car is basically completely new in appearance, while adopting the brand new "tricolor shield" Buick logo.

Specifically, the front face of the new car uses a trapezoidal large mouth air intake grille, the interior is decorated with a semi-closed structure, with split headlamp groups on both sides, daytime driving lights at the top and near and far light below, which has a great impact on the visual effect. The lower part is equipped with small-sized diversion grooves on both sides and a flat trapezoidal air intake design in the middle, which makes the new car more athletic. By contrast, the body of the new car has been shortened, but the width and wheelbase remain unchanged.

In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a 2.0L turbocharged engine and a 48V light mixing system with a maximum power of 169kW. The transmission system is expected to continue to match the 9-speed automatic transmission, comprehensive fuel consumption 6.59L/100km under WLTC conditions and a maximum speed of 230km/h per hour. In terms of competition, in the joint venture medium-sized car market, LaCrosse's potential competitors include Toyota Asian Dragon, Nissan Teana, Honda Accord and other models.

The LaCrosse (Lacrosse) is a classic medium-sized car owned by Buick, which was first introduced to the domestic market in 2006. It has gone through three generations of vehicle iterations so far, and the LaCrosse currently on sale has been on sale since 2016.

In 2017, the third-generation LaCrosse, built on GM's P2XX platform, has been greatly upgraded, powered by GM's 2.0T engine with a maximum horsepower of 237 horsepower. However, compared with the previous two generations of models, the market performance of this generation of models is very mediocre, and even shows an obvious downward trend. According to the data, the cumulative sales of Buick LaCrosse from 2018 to 2021 were 69709, 39937, 54975 and 49875 respectively.

The latest figures from New car Traffic Insurance show that LaCrosse sales in 2022 totaled 31600 vehicles, down 39.45 per cent from a year earlier. Judging from the current performance of the LaCrosse car market, it is obvious that the LaCrosse has been difficult to enter the mainstream intermediate car camp, as for whether the younger replacement models can reverse the decline in sales after the launch, it remains to be seen.

Cumulative sales in the first three months of 2023 were 4671, including 1583 from January to March, 1011 from January to March and 2077 from January to March, according to FIFA retail data.
