On April 27th, GAC MOTOR Shadow Leopard R officially launched two new models, PRO and MAX, with a price range of 13.80-158000 yuan. As a new model, the new owner will upgrade the appearance and interior of the Shadow Leopard 1.5T model, which is equipped with a 2.0T engine and 8AT powertrain model 4B20J3. From the point of view of the new car price and various parameters, the new car will compete with LinkedIn 03+ after it comes on the market. As a reference, the price range of LinkedIn 03+ is 13.68-256800 yuan.

In terms of appearance, the overall design style of the new car is basically consistent with the Shadow Leopard R-style track version. In terms of subdivision, the front face of the new car is designed with an inverted trapezoidal intake grille, the right side of the grille is equipped with a red "R" logo to increase recognition, and the two sides are matched with sharp headlamp groups for a sense of movement. In addition, the encirclement under the new car uses a relatively radical aerodynamic design, with huge cooling vents on both sides, making the visual effect of the vehicle more aggressive.

On the side of the body, the new car uses a slip-back body with a raised skirt line, and an "R" exclusive logo is added to the fender to further enhance the recognition of the new car. A big change in the new car is the replacement of a bright black 19-inch multi-spoke rim with an orange four-piston brake caliper design for more visual impact. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4753/1850/1432mm and the wheelbase is 2736mm. In the rear part, the new car taillight adopts split design and fumigation treatment, with large-size black hollowed-out tail wing and large-size tail diffuser, the whole is more fashionable, and the exhaust is bilateral and four-out layout.

In the interior part, the new car uses a large area of gray Dinamica fabric to match with black leather, full of movement, and the "R" logo on the headrest once again highlights the identity of the new car. The new car is equipped with a dual 10.25in integrated screen and introduces RACE mode for the first time, and the dashboard adds gear shift prompts, giving the overall strong sense of technology.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged four-cylinder engine, maximum power 195kW, maximum horsepower 265 horsepower, peak torque 400Nm, transmission matching 8AT gearbox and front wheel drive system, the official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 5.7 seconds. In terms of chassis, the new car is equipped with front McPherson and rear multi-link independent suspension and Bosch ESP10 system for the first time.

GAC MOTOR is GAC GROUP's independent research and development brand, while Shadow Leopard is GAC MOTOR's compact car with a major sports style, which made its public debut at the EMPOW55 Shadow Leopard at the 2020 Guangzhou International Auto Show. The car is based on GAC MOTOR GPMA (abbreviation of GAC Global Platform Modular Architecture, that is, Guangzhou Automobile Global platform Modular Architecture) platform. GAC MOTOR officially announced that the Chinese name of the new car is "Shadow Leopard". In appearance, it uses the latest design language of the brand, providing two design styles and modeling options. In terms of power, it is equipped with Guangzhou Automobile "Jilang Power" brand-new third-generation 1.5T GDI engine, matching 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, and the follow-up 2.0T version of the car is selected.

GAC MOTOR Shadow Leopard officially launched in August 2021, the new car launched a total of four models, then the price range of 9.88-128000 yuan, the power is equipped with GAC MOTOR's third-generation giant wave power 1.5TGDI engine, the maximum power of 177hp, peak torque 270N ·m, matching seven-speed wet double-clutch transmission.

GAC MOTOR Shadow Leopard R-sytle track version went on sale in May 2022 at a price of 136800 yuan. The car can be regarded as an upgraded version of Chuanqi Shadow Leopard. GAC MOTOR Shadow Leopard hybrid version went on sale in October 2022, with a total of two models priced at 128000 yuan and 148000 yuan respectively.

In addition to GAC MOTOR Shadow Leopard R listing, Shadow Leopard R ·ABT joint version has also been opened for pre-sale, pre-sale range of 20-400000 yuan. The new car, based on Shadow Leopard R, features a black samurai style and blackens many details, with 19-inch red and black rims and a wide carbon fiber rear spoiler, and a 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 195 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. It is understood that the new car is undergoing ABT professional chassis adjustment and power upgrade, and it is expected that the overall sports performance may be further improved. According to the plan, the new car will be delivered in the fourth quarter of this year, which may further boost GAC MOTOR Shadow Leopard sales.

New car traffic insurance data show that the cumulative sales of Chuanqi Shadow Leopard in 2022 was 45439, up 25% from the same period last year. After entering 2023, it declined slightly, and the cumulative sales in the first two months of 2023 was 4552, down 60.72% from the same period last year. Among them, January-February sales were 2873 and 1679 respectively, down 68.21% and 41.46% respectively. For comparison, the cumulative sales of Lecke 03 in the first two months of 2023 were 7307, including 3683 and 3624 from January to February, respectively.
