AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/14 Report--

A few days ago, Genisse Automobile sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products. From May 12, 2023, Genisse will recall some GV60 models, a total of 70 vehicles.

Recall batches: recall a total of 70 imported Denisys GV60 (parameters | inquiry) cars that were manufactured from August 24, 2022 to December 17, 2022.

The reason for the recall: due to manufacturing reasons, the surface stress of the rear axle half axle is too large, which may lead to the fracture of the vehicle driving half axle, and there is a safety hidden danger.

Solution: Genisse Automotive sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will replace the rear axle half axle assembly for vehicles within the recall range free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

It is worth mentioning that Genisseth GV60 has just been listed in China. It is understood that the Genisseth GV60 debuted in November 2022 and officially launched in March 2023, based on the E-GMP pure electric platform. It is the first model of the Genisseth brand based on the pure electric platform, positioning pure electric medium-sized cross-border SUV, of which the deluxe version starts at 285800 yuan and the flagship version starts at 351800 yuan.

In November 2022, Genisese unveiled three pure electric models: G80, GV70 and GV60, in which GV60 locates pure electric medium-sized cross-border SUV and is based on E-GMP electric platform. Genisse announced that all new models will be pure electric models by 2025, with 100% zero emissions by 2030 and net zero carbon emissions by 2035.

Genisse claims to expand its popularity, but the environment has changed, and the brand has not put down its posture and promoted it enough. For the domestic market, Genisse's brand appeal and performance-to-price ratio do not have an advantage. At the same time, Korean cars represented by Hyundai are not highly recognized in China, and their influence has begun to decline since 2016, while Korean brands are generally lagging behind and their strategy is slow when new energy vehicles are popular. Korean joint venture brands are difficult to be left alone, and it may be even more difficult for high-end luxury brands such as Genisse to stand out.

However, similar to Hyundai, Kia and other brands, although its performance in the domestic market is mediocre, its sales in the global market are very eye-catching. According to Hyundai's results, its high-end brand Genisse sold 903874 vehicles worldwide as of March, including 633318 in South Korea and 270556 overseas. Genisse sales are growing positively every year, rising 11.1 per cent to 55936 vehicles in the first quarter compared with the same period a year earlier. On this basis, cumulative sales are expected to exceed 1 million vehicles from July to August this year.
