On May 22nd, the brand new medium-sized SUV--GV70 officially launched, the new car positioning luxury medium-sized SUV, is the first medium-sized SUV under Genisse, a total of two models, including the luxury version of the model price of 329800 yuan, the flagship version of the model price of 405800 yuan, power equipped with 2.5T turbocharged engine, matching eight-speed automatic transmission, imported into the domestic market.

In terms of appearance, the new car continues the family design style of Zeiss, the front face is treated with the brand's iconic large-size closed grille, the interior is supplemented by a diamond-shaped hollowed-out metal mesh design, and both sides are equipped with long and narrow split headlamps. The overall identification is good, in addition, the lines under the new car are very sharp, and the metal chrome-plated decorative strips at the air intake create a sense of luxury.

On the side of the body, the new car adopts segmented waistline design, the small triangular window between C-column and D-column has a high degree of identification, and the design of D-column triangular window is also very characteristic. The declining waistline and the declining roof lines also make the body posture more athletic. In the rear part, the new car adopts the styling design that echoes with the front face, and the taillight adopts split double-layer LED light band design, which not only broadens the visual effect of the tail, but also has a good degree of recognition. The lower enclosure uses an integrated design with a bilateral two-way exhaust layout to make the vehicle look cleaner and cleaner.

In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4715/1910/1645mm and the wheelbase is 2875mm. As a reference, the current long wheelbase Mercedes-Benz GLC length width height is 4826/1890/1714mm, wheelbase 2977mm, current BMW X3 length width height is 4737/1891/1689mm, wheelbase 2864mm. In other words, the Genisseth GV70 has not been lengthened after it was introduced into China, and the back space performance is not as spacious as the long wheelbase GLC and Q5L.

Interior part, the car provides red and black two-color, black rice two-color, classic black and deep blue four color layout and the use of leather seats, leather seats, advanced Nappa leather + fur seats, advanced Nappa leather + diamond stitched seats. The new car comes standard with a 14.5in suspended central control screen, a knob shift mechanism and AR live navigation, and provides a fingerprint recognition system.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 2.5-liter in-line four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 223 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 422 Nm, matching an 8-block self-contained gearbox. In terms of suspension structure, GV70 is equipped with front double fork arm independent suspension and rear multi-link independent suspension.

In terms of the positioning and price of the new car, the new car will compete with medium-sized SUV models such as Mercedes-Benz GLC (40.63-531300 yuan), BMW X3 (39.96-486900 yuan) and Audi Q5 (39.68-488800 yuan).

GENESIS, an independent luxury brand of Hyundai Motor Group of Korea, was established in November 2015 and officially entered the Chinese market in April 2021. Although the Genisis brand has only been in the Chinese market for about two years, it has successively laid out a number of models in China. According to the official website, its domestic products include G70, GV70, G80, GV80 and GV60 models. Although there are many products of Genisseth, but limited by the relatively small number of brands, the development of Genisse in the domestic market is not smooth. According to the new car compulsory insurance purchase data, Genisys sold only 1457 vehicles in China in 2022. Among the subdivided models, G70, G80 and GV80 sold 226,832 and 399 vehicles respectively.

In November 2022, Genisis unveiled three pure electric models: G80, GV70 and GV60. In addition to the GV70 model listed this time, GV60 was also listed in March this year, based on E-GMP pure electric platform. It is the first pure electric platform-based model of the Genisseth brand, positioning pure electric medium-sized cross-border SUV, of which the luxury version starts at 285800 yuan and the flagship version starts at 351800 yuan.

According to the plan, all new models of Genisys will become pure electric models by 2025, with 100% zero emissions by 2030 and net zero carbon emissions by 2035. As for whether a number of models can reopen the development of the Genisis brand after the launch, there may be an answer soon.
