AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/26 Report--
On May 26, the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration issued the latest recall announcement. According to the announcement, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products.
Since June 26, 2023, a total of 1161 imported S-class cars were recalled from April 3, 2020 to February 4, 2021.
The reason for this recall is that due to the lax sealing of the front panel of some vehicles within the recall area, stagnant water may seep into the interior of the vehicle, causing corrosion or short circuit of the Preventive Safety system (Pre-Safe) wiring harness in the vehicle. In extreme cases, seat belt tensioner and seat adjustment can not work properly, which increases the risk of collision injury of drivers and passengers, and there are hidden dangers. In view of the above defects, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd., through Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers, will re-seal the front panels for vehicles within the recall range free of charge to eliminate safety risks.
Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd., Jaguar Land Rover (Ningbo) Trading Co., Ltd. in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the Administration of defective Automobile products recall and the measures for the implementation of defective Automobile products recall, filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration and decided to recall the following vehicles.
First, Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Jaguar Land Rover (Ningbo) Trading Co., Ltd. since May 26, 2023, recall some of the 2018 to 2022 range Rover and range Rover plug-in hybrid vehicles produced from March 28, 2017 to June 27, 2021, totaling 4424. Recall 2022 and 2023 Land Rover Guards plug-in hybrid vehicles manufactured from May 20, 2021 to June 28, 2022, totaling 97.
The reason for this recall is that the vehicles in the recall may cause cracks in the coolant bends when the engine is overheated, and the coolant may leak to the turbocharger insulation board, which may cause a fire in the engine compartment in extreme cases. There is a safety risk. In view of the above defects, Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Jaguar Land Rover (Ningbo) Trading Co., Ltd. will replace the coolant bends and turbocharger coolant pipes of new materials free of charge for vehicles within the scope of the recall. To eliminate safety risks.
Second, Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will recall some imported 2022 and 2023 seven-seater Land Rover cars produced from December 8, 2021 to May 27, 2022 from June 2, 2023.
The reason for this recall is that there may be poor welding on the locking mechanism on the left seat frame of the second row of the vehicle within the recall scope, resulting in the seat not being fixed correctly. When the vehicle has an accident or emergency braking, the left seat of the second row may have excessive displacement, which will increase the risk of injury and safety risks. In view of the above defects, Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will inspect the locking mechanism of the second row left seat base for the vehicles within the recall scope. If the locking mechanism of the seat base is found to be defective, the second row left seat frame and related parts will be replaced free of charge to eliminate safety risks.
