On May 30th, Chery's new medium-sized SUV-- Ruihu 9 was officially launched, launching a total of five models with a price range of 152900-203900 yuan.

As Chery's new flagship SUV model, the new car is based on the new T2X Mars architecture, and its appearance adopts the brand's new family style design. The front face uses a large area polygonal intake grille design, and the interior is supplemented by waterfall chrome plating design. The center of China net is a glowing LOGO brand, the shape of the headlights on both sides is very narrow and sharp, and the daytime driving lights are above, which are interconnected with China net. The visual effect extends the width of the front face, the bottom is two lens headlights, the interior uses a matrix LED light source, the raised ribs on the engine hatch and the three-stage air intake design make the new car more athletic as a whole.

On the side of the body, the new car adopts a similar suspended roof and two-color body design, and the roof line begins to decline from the A-pillar, creating a visual effect of a slip-back roof. A straight waistline extends from the headlight group to the taillight group. The whole car is very classy, and the door handle is a popular hidden design, with three-dimensional wheel eyebrows and dense spoke blackening rims below. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4820/1930/1699mm, wheelbase is 2820mm, positioning medium-sized SUV.

In the rear part, the overall design of the new car is very simple, with a large size spoiler on the roof, a through taillight group design on both sides, and a slender strip linked to each other to enhance the refinement of the vehicle shape, with the brand LOGO embedded in the middle, with a very high degree of recognition. The rear enclosure is equipped with two bilateral exhaust layouts.

In the interior part, the new car uses a new design style. The light brown and white color matching is used in the car, while the wood material is used in the central control area, which makes the car more luxurious. In terms of configuration, the new car is equipped with a 12.3-inch LCD dashboard and a 12.3-inch dual screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and a new generation of Lion 5.0 Lion Zhiyun system. The return-shaped air outlet at the bottom of the screen is unique, and the new car also simplifies a large number of physical buttons, retaining only some touch buttons such as multimedia and seat heating, and using a shift shift to make the car look more concise. In the seat layout, the new car offers two options: 5 seats and 7 seats.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with Kunpeng power 2.0TGDI engine, maximum power 192kW, maximum torque 400N ·m, two-wheel drive model matching 7-speed double-clutch transmission, four-wheel drive model 8-speed manual integrated transmission.

At present, Chery Automotive products have formed three major product series: Ruihu series, Arize series and Oumengda product series, and the model positioning covers small SUV, compact SUV and medium-sized SUV, that is to say, from small SUV to medium-sized SUV, Chery has a corresponding product layout. In the past 2022, only Ruihu series was the main sales force of Chery Automobile. New car traffic insurance data show that Chery sold 461908 vehicles in 2022, of which Ruihu 8 sold 107277 vehicles, accounting for 23.22% of the total sales, and Ruihu 7 sold 50874 vehicles, accounting for 11.01% of the total sales. But that has changed since 2023.

In September 2022, Arize 8 went on the market with a price range of 10.89-132900 yuan. The whole system is equipped with 1.6 T Kunpeng Power. Take the retail sales of Carriage Association as an example. In April this year, Chery sold 24478 vehicles, of which Ruihu 8 still sold the highest 8766 vehicles. Arize 8 replaced Ruihu 7 with 5115, while Ruihu 7 ranked third with 3429.

Considering the positioning and price of the new car, the new car will compete with Geely Xingyue L (price range 13.72-185200 yuan), Red Flag HS5 (price range 18.38-249800 yuan) and GAC MOTOR GS8 (price range 18.68-269800 yuan).
