From now on, some imported G80, GV70, GV80 and pure electric GV70 and GV60 cars with production dates from January 13, 2021 to February 6, 2023 will be recalled, totaling 1602.

The reason for the recall is that when the vehicles within the scope of the recall collided at low speed, the delay in the working time of the front seat belt pretensioner led to excessive pressure in the pipe of the pretensioner, and the seatbelt pretensioner gas generator may detach and eject fragments, which is a safety risk. In view of the above defects, Genisse Automobile sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will install a free protection device to prevent the seatbelt pretensioner gas generator from breaking off for the vehicles within the recall range, so as to eliminate safety risks.

It should be noted that in this recall, the GV60 is a newly launched model, and this is its second recall in a month. On May 12th, in accordance with the regulations on the Administration of defective Automobile products recall and the measures for the implementation of defective Automobile products recall regulations, Genisseth Automotive sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. recalled a total of 70 imported Denis GV60 cars that were manufactured from August 24, 2022 to December 17, 2022.

The reason for the recall is that due to manufacturing reasons, the surface stress of the half axle of the rear axle is too large, which may lead to the fracture of the half axle of the vehicle and the hidden danger of safety. From the analysis of product layout, there are many models on sale in China, but due to the small number of brands, the development of Genisse in the domestic market is not smooth. According to the new car compulsory insurance purchase data, Genisys sold only 1457 vehicles in China in 2022. Among the subdivided models, G70, G80 and GV80 sold 226,832 and 399 vehicles respectively.

According to the plan, all new models of Genisys will become pure electric models by 2025, with 100% zero emissions by 2030 and net zero carbon emissions by 2035. As for whether a number of models can reopen the development of the Genisis brand after the launch, there may be an answer soon.
