Earlier, the official has announced that the new car Chinese name is "Lavida Xinrui". According to the plan, the new car will be launched on June 13, the price may be lower than the Lavida model, the price may be about 100,000 yuan.

In terms of appearance, it adopts flat and younger design style, which is more fashionable than Lavida model. The front face adopts black decorative mesh design and connects the headlight groups at both ends together. The middle is Volkswagen brand LOGO, with wide grille design surrounded by the front. The front enclosure is decorated with large dot matrix chrome and black paint, making the overall visual effect younger and more fashionable. At the rear part, the new car adopts split-type tail lamp group design and blackened design. The interior is red and white with chrome design, and the middle is inlaid with Volkswagen brand LOGO to enhance the recognition after lighting. The left side of the new car is marked with the word "SAIC Volkswagen", the right side is marked with "XR" and the middle is marked with "LAVIDA" to further enhance the identification of the vehicle. In addition, the bumper of the new car is also inlaid with chrome trim strips, which look very delicate.

On the side of the car body, the new car has smooth lines, slightly raised waist, and the side skirt is concave design, which looks very mature and stable, but the size is relatively compact. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4561/1740/1494mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2651 mm. As a comparison, the length, width and height of the current Lavida model are 4678/1806/1474mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2688 mm. By contrast, the length of the new car is 117mm shorter than that of the Lavida model, and the wheelbase is 37mm shorter. The overall body is more compact, and it is expected that the positioning will be lower than that of the current Lavida model.

In the interior part, the new car adopts lake blue and black matching each other, the central control screen abandons the suspension design and replaces it with embedded design, and the air conditioning outlet shape is also different from Lavida. In addition, the car is also equipped with LCD instruments, automatic headlights, multi-function steering wheel, one-button start, manual air conditioning, front auxiliary system, lane keeping auxiliary system and other configurations.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 110 hp (81 kW) and a maximum torque of 141 N·m, matching a 6-speed manual self-contained gearbox. As a contrast, the current Lavida model offers 1.5L/1.4T/1.2T/1.5T power options.

According to the data of the association, the sales volume of SAIC Volkswagen fell by 14.70% year-on-year to 1,243,500 vehicles in 2022, among which the accumulated sales volume of Lavida in the whole year was 351,100 vehicles, which is the model with the highest sales volume of SAIC Volkswagen.

According to the comprehensive size of the new car, the size of the new car is smaller than that of the current Lavida, and it is expected that the positioning will be slightly lower than Lavida and slightly higher than Santana. In the future, it will focus on the entry-level compact car market, with the starting price of about 100,000 yuan. After listing, it may become the successor of Santana, forming a high-middle-low three-gear A-class car product line with Lavida and Lingdu. According to the latest sales data, from January to April this year, the cumulative sales volume of SAIC Volkswagen was 326,700 vehicles. From the perspective of product camp, the cumulative sales volume of Lavida was 99,100 vehicles, which is still the model with the highest sales volume of SAIC Volkswagen. As for the lower positioning of Lavida new cutting-edge models after the launch can boost SAIC Volkswagen sales? From the price level, the 100,000-level Lavida Xinrui is still quite competitive in the auto market. Of course, as of the time of publication, SAIC Volkswagen has not announced the specific selling price of the model. What kind of performance the car will have in the auto market in the future still needs more information to be disclosed by the official.
