Starting from March 31, 2024, a total of 3910 Buick Enclair cars manufactured during the period from March 26, 2013 to August 10, 2016 will be recalled for the period from 2014 to 2017.

The reason for the recall is that due to manufacturing reasons, the airbag gas generator of the main driver of the vehicle within the scope of this recall may be abnormally damaged when the airbag is deployed, resulting in debris flying out, injuring the personnel in the car, and there is a safety hidden danger. In view of the above defects, SAIC General Motors Co., Ltd. will replace the main airbag assembly for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge, in order to eliminate safety risks.

Second, from July 31, 2023, a total of 74295 Chevrolet explorers manufactured during the period from August 13, 2020 to December 26, 2022 will be recalled, totalling 74295 Chevrolet explorers from 2021 to 2023.

The reason for the recall is that the tightness of the fuel pump control module decreased due to manufacturing fluctuations in the scope of the recall, and the water vapor invaded into the control module resulting in abnormal work, which in extreme cases will lead to the loss of power while the vehicle was driving. there are safety risks.

The Buick Enclair is a medium-and large-sized SUV under SAIC GM's Buick, and it is also the first model from GM's new Lambda platform. The Power Mountain is equipped with a 3.6L V6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission, but the car is not made in China, but is imported into the domestic market.

SAIC GM Chevrolet sales totaled 206178 vehicles in 2022, of which 22724 were sold by explorers, accounting for only 11.02 per cent of total sales, according to FIFA retail data.

Judging from the recall information, the number of recalls is not particularly high. It should be noted that the recall was carried out in the context of the defect investigation initiated by the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration. Affected by the investigation, SAIC General Motors Co., Ltd. will apply waterproof glue on the top of the fuel pump control module within the recall range free of charge, and replace the abnormal fuel pump control module to eliminate safety risks.
