It is understood that this is the second model launched after the brand rejuvenation, and it is also the first SUV after the brand rejuvenation. Official figures show that Teng Teng N7 blind bookings for seven days exceeded 10,000, while blind bookings in January exceeded 20,000. Zhao Changjiang, general manager of the Tengli sales division, said that the new car will compete with BBA models such as Mercedes-Benz EQC, BMW iX3 and Audi Q5L after its launch. At the press conference, Zhao Changjiang said bluntly: "N7 is the first luxury SUV to challenge BBA." In addition, Zhao Changjiang also pointed out that Teng Teng will seize some of the market segments in the hands of BBA, and strive to reach 15-20% of the market segment in the future.
In terms of appearance, the front face of the new car uses the "π-Motion" potential energy aesthetic design language similar to the Tengli D9, with a closed grille with flat headlights on both sides, which looks very sharp as a whole. In addition, the new car also offers double front face styling for consumers to choose from. The main difference between the two models lies in the LED daytime driving lights. One model uses LED daytime driving lights similar to boomerang style, which makes the new car more recognizable, while the other version uses two more concise LED light belts, which makes the visual effect more concise.
On the side of the body, the new car uses a low-lying body posture and hunting SUV modeling, the overall body waistline is raised, full of sports flavor. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4860/1935/1602mm, wheelbase is 2940mm, positioning medium-sized SUV. In the rear part, the shape of the new car is round and plump, and the taillights are designed with a penetrating design, with "arrow feathers" on both sides. In addition, diversion ports are specially designed on both sides, and the upper and lower ends are extended with "lines" to create a dynamic atmosphere. In terms of interior, the new car comes with a 10.25-inch full LCD dashboard, a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a 15.6-inch suspension screen, which is the same as the Tengli D9. But unlike the Tengli D9, the new car adds an entertainment screen in the co-driver area and uses a stepped layout around it. In terms of power, the new car offers two versions of single-motor and dual-motor four-wheel drive, in which the total power of single-motor version is 230kW and the total power of dual-motor four-wheel drive version is 390kW. In terms of batteries, the new car will be equipped with a battery pack with 91.392kWh capacity, with 702km for the single-motor version of CLTC and 630km for the dual-motor version of CLTC.
According to the data, Tengli was founded in 2010 and is 50% each owned by BYD and Mercedes-Benz. At the end of 2021, the two sides decided that BYD would take back 40% of Mercedes-Benz and operate independently. After the brand revived in May 2022, a series of "reforms" have taken place in the dominant position of the brand. At present, the two major shareholders of the brand are BYD and Daimler, which own 90% and 10% respectively. In short, the current strategic development of the trend is mainly led by BYD and supported by Mercedes-Benz. The "Tengli D9" is the first model after BYD dominates the brand, and it also becomes the first model to reverse the trend. The car was officially launched on August 23, positioning as a medium-and large-scale high-end MPV, with a total of DM-i super hybrid version and pure electric power options, priced between 32.98 and 459800 yuan.
According to the retail data of the Carriage Association, the cumulative sales of the Tengli D9 from January to May in 2023 was 45534, of which 11005 in May, the third consecutive month of sales of more than 10,000 vehicles.
For the follow-up product development, Tencent plans to launch seven new cars in the next three years. In addition to D9 and N7, it will also launch two SUV and three sedan products with a price range of 30-800000. Among them, the Tengli N8 will launch the Teng Teng N8 MAX version, with a wheelbase of 3 meters. As for the sales forecast of the Tengli N7, Zhao Changjiang said that the Teng Teng N7 wants to achieve monthly sales of 5000-10000 vehicles. According to the plan, it is expected to deliver about 3000 vehicles in July and 6000 in August, with monthly delivery stable at around 10, 000 in the fourth quarter of this year.
