First, Dongfeng Honda Motor Co., Ltd. recalled a total of 12553 domestic hybrid version Civic cars produced between July 8, 2022 and March 24, 2023; second, Guangzhou Automobile Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. recalled a total of 4142 domestic hybrid version models and hybrid versions produced during the period from January 20, 2022 to March 30, 2023.

The reason for the recall is that due to the setting of the engine Electronic Control Unit (ECU) of the vehicles within the scope of this recall, in extreme cases, the historical information of the on-board diagnosis system (OBD) may be removed and the failure light extinguishing conditions do not comply with the requirements of the pollutant emission standards for light vehicles, resulting in unreasonable emission risks. In view of the above defects, Dongfeng Honda Motor Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Auto Honda Motor Co., Ltd. will upgrade the ECU of vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate the risk of unreasonable emissions.

Toyota, another Japanese brand, also launched a recall on the same day. Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the Administration of defective Automobile products recall and the measures for the implementation of defective Automobile products recall regulations. From now on, it is decided to recall some imported NX 260,350h and NX 400h+ vehicles produced from March 1, 2023 to April 28, 2023, totaling 1817.

The reason for the recall is that the terminal connection of the vehicle Global Positioning system (GPS) antenna is improper and the GPS antenna does not work properly and cannot provide location information for the vehicle. When using the emergency rescue function, the rescue may be delayed due to the inability to send vehicle location information, which may lead to security risks. In view of the above defects, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will adjust the wiring position of GPS antenna line terminals for vehicles within the recall range free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

On the same day, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products. Starting from September 30, 2023, a total of 83985 Dongfeng Nissan brand brand new passenger cars produced from May 22, 2017 to February 28, 2019 will be recalled.

The reason for the recall is that foreign bodies may be generated in the vehicle anti-lock braking system (ABS) actuator motor after long-term use, resulting in occasional poor conduction of the brush, causing ABS actuator failure, affecting vehicle handling performance under extreme operating conditions, and there are hidden dangers.

It should be noted that the recall was carried out in the context of the defect investigation initiated by the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration. Affected by the investigation, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. decided to take recall measures to upgrade the software for vehicles within the recall scope free of charge, and to replace the ABS actuator assembly if the software cannot be repaired, in order to eliminate safety risks.
