Recently, Peugeot Citroen (Shanghai) Management Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products. A total of 49 imported DEX DS3 pure electric vehicles manufactured between November 18,2020 and July 21,2021 will be recalled from now on.

It is understood that the copper wire protective layer of compressor motor stator of some vehicles within the scope of recall may be damaged, resulting in contact between copper wire and compressor lubricant and refrigerant. When the moisture of lubricant and refrigerant is too much, it may corrode copper wire, resulting in degradation of compressor insulation grade. When the vehicle diagnostic software detects this situation, it will disconnect the main battery relay and cause the power system to shut down, resulting in loss of power during vehicle driving, which has potential safety hazards.

In response to the above defects, Peugeot Citroen (Shanghai) Management Co., Ltd. will replace the air conditioning compressor free of charge for the vehicles within the recall scope and install a new dehumidifier filter tank to increase the drying capacity, thus eliminating safety hazards.

It is worth mentioning that this recall is another recall of Peugeot Citroen (Shanghai) Management Co., Ltd. issued on September 16,2022 to recall part of the imported DS 3 pure electric vehicle recall campaign. Previously, Peugeot Citroen (Shanghai) Management Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration on September 16,2022. The reasons for recall, the number of recalls and the production year of recalled models were consistent with the recall.

DS3 is the first pure electric vehicle under DS brand. It was sold in China by import in May 2021. It provides two configurations in total, with a price range of 313,300 - 333,300 yuan.

As a luxury brand pure electric small SUV, DS 3 has few competitors in China. We can think of similar products Audi Q2L e-tron, like the difference between the two brands, the style of these two products is completely different, compared to Audi Q2L e-tron, DS is more avant-garde luxury, compared to Q2L e-tron is more conservative and pragmatic. Of course, just like the number of recalls, this model has almost no sense of existence in China. As a small pure electric SUV, the price is as high as 313,300 yuan, while DS has made slow progress in brand promotion, sales network construction and other aspects, and it is difficult to get recognition from Chinese consumers.
