Changchun Fengyue Branch (authorized by FAW Toyota (Chengdu) Co., Ltd.), Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products, the recall plan was filed with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration. The following vehicles will be recalled as of August 7, 2023.

Guangzhou Auto Toyota Motor Co., Ltd.: recall some of the Weilanda High performance version (PHEV) cars produced between May 7, 2021 and September 28, 2022, a total of 6963 vehicles.

Second, FAW Toyota (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. Changchun Fengyue Branch: recall some RAV4 E+ vehicles produced during the period from April 5, 2021 to September 13, 2022, a total of 6728 vehicles.

Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd.: recall some imported Lexus NX 400h+ vehicles produced between November 15, 2021 and May 25, 2022, totaling 864 vehicles.

It is understood that the vehicles within the scope of this recall due to inadequate consideration in the structural design of the rectifier module in the voltage conversion device (DC-DC converter), when there are manufacturing defects in the rectifier module, it may lead to a short circuit inside the rectifier module during use, and the warning lights are lit. At the same time, the current of the auxiliary battery continues to flow to the DC-DC converter, making it hot. In extreme cases, there is the risk of causing vehicle fire, and there are hidden dangers.

In view of product defects, Guangzhou Automobile Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., FAW Toyota Motor (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. Changchun Fengyue Branch, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will replace the improved DC-DC converter for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge. Toyota reminded car owners to suspend the use of external chargers to charge their vehicles before the recall. During this period, car owners can use the vehicle normally by adding fuel.

The Weilanda High performance Edition and the RAV4 Rongfang dual engine E+ are sister models. The former went on sale in May 2021 with a manufacturer-directed price range of 25.88-299800 yuan, while the latter has a subsidized price range of 24.88-296800 yuan in April 2021. Data show that in the first half of 2023, the cumulative sales of Weilanda High performance Edition (PHEV) were 303, while that of RAV4 was 377.

The new Lexus NX model will be officially launched in China in November 2021, with a price range of 31.88-548800 yuan. As a new generation of models, the new car is based on the Toyota TNGA architecture, Lexus NX adjusts the appearance and interior, and provides fuel / hybrid / plug-in systems on the power side, of which the NX 400h+ is a plug-in hybrid model with pure electric mileage of 76/73km (WLTC standard) and an E-CVT gearbox in terms of transmission.
