As a new generation of models, the new car uses a non-load-bearing chassis, and its overall shape is similar to that of Nissan Tuda, which can be regarded as a "standard-changing model" of Nissan Touda. The biggest change in the new car is that it will no longer use the Nissan LOGO. The new LOGO means that Paladin's positioning will be lower than that of Tuda and will be recognized by consumers at a lower market price. For comparison, the 2020 Nissan Tuda currently on sale have a price range of 169800-248300 yuan. In terms of appearance, the overall shape of the new car basically continues the Nissan Touda design style, and the biggest change is the use of a new brand logo. In terms of details, the front face of the new car weakens the Nissan family "V"-shaped chromium-plated grille, and is replaced with an all-new mesh grille and headlamps, and blackened. At the same time, the new car also adds the details of imitation vents in the front fender area of the car side, which makes the visual effect more domineering.

On the side of the body, the lines of the new car are smooth and sharp, and the roof is suspended, coupled with the lower multi-spoke rims and the pedals under the door, which not only looks very burly, but also enhances the off-road flavor of the whole car. In the rear part, the new car is also highly similar to the Nissan Tuda model, except that the rear of the new car is replaced with a brand-new style of large roof spoiler, and the chrome-plated banner located at the top of the rear license plate area is marked with the new "PALADIN" letter, which is highly recognizable and the exhaust is a hidden layout.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car is 4882/1850/1875mm, the wheelbase is 2850mm, and the positioning is hardline SUV. For comparison, the current Nissan Touda length, width and height are 4882/1850/1835mm, wheelbase is 2850mm. In other words, except for the height increase of the 40mm, the other dimensions of the new car are consistent with the current Nissan Touda.

In the interior part, the new car does not continue the Nissan Touda design, and the overall styling style of the center console is similar to that of Zhengzhou Nissan Parasso and Vernon 7 models, but has been greatly modified in detail. The car is made of large soft bag material and uses dark and light two-color matching, equipped with a 7-inch LCD instrument and a 12-inch vertical suspension central control screen, and a hidden storage space is designed in the lower part of the sub-instrument console. In addition, the new car is also equipped with L2 ADAS intelligent driving assistance system, ten-in-one intelligent driving function, and equipped with 360-degree panoramic image + 180-degree chassis image, 7 driving modes + tank U-turn function.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline turbocharged engine provided by Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi, with a maximum power of 125 kilowatts and a peak torque of 360 Nm. In contrast to the Nissan QR25 engine currently on sale, Nissan Touda is equipped with a 2.5L four-cylinder gasoline naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power increase of 15kW and a peak torque increase of 152Nm. The transmission system matches the ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. The new generation of Paladin four-wheel drive system is time-sharing four-wheel drive, which can provide electronically controlled front / rear axle differential locks.

Speaking of Zhengzhou Nissan Paladin, many people should be no stranger to it. After all, at the beginning of its launch, it was famous in China for its domineering styling design and excellent power performance. Unfortunately, the model was eventually discontinued for its own reasons.

Paladin first originated from Nissan's best-selling SUV--TXERRA in North America. In 2004, Zhengzhou Nissan Paladin team first competed in the 26th Dakar Rally, resulting in World War I, and was later introduced into the Chinese market by Zhengzhou Nissan. In 2004, Paladin officially entered China and was named "Paladin". The listing of the car also filled the gap in China's cross-country SUV market. Paladin is based on the Navara pickup platform, the initial launch is a 2.4L engine model, the price is 239800 yuan, and then launched 2.4L and 3.3L engine models. However, sales were depressed due to the aging of the platform, and the price showed that Paladin sold only 1627 vehicles in 2016 and finally stopped production and sales in 2017. Since then, a new generation of TXERRA has changed its name to "Tuda" and became Paladin's successor. Zhengzhou Nissan Tuda, which went on sale on December 12, 2018, is positioned as a hard SUV with a non-load-bearing body, with a price range of 16.98-245800 yuan.

At present, Nissan has only two hard-line SUV models in the domestic market, namely, Paladin and Tuller, of which 2023 models are priced in the range of 798000-838000 yuan. Due to the high price, the car does not exist in the car market. At present, Zhengzhou Nissan's sales in China are not sizeable. Retail data show that Zhengzhou Nissan sold 4241 vehicles in the first half of 2023, basically from Tuda models.

All in all, the new Paladin is developed on the basis of Nissan Tuda, which means that the car has the hard-line SUV attribute, the appearance design is also more in line with the aesthetics of the current car market, and abandoned the Nissan logo and replaced it with a brand new car logo, which is expected to boost sales of Zhengzhou Nissan after the new car comes on the market. It should be noted that the new generation of Harvard H5, which also locates hardline off-road vehicles, has also been scheduled to go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year, and the price is expected to be around 150000 yuan.
