AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)04/30 Report--

On April 29th local time, Bosch, Germany's largest supplier of mechanical, electrical and auto parts, said it had partnered with Swedish fuel cell maker powercell to develop and produce fuel cells for commercial vehicles.

In the face of increasingly serious environmental problems and large-scale emission reduction measures, the European Union has proposed a 15% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions from trucks by 2025 and a 30% reduction by 2030. These measures have led many car manufacturers to launch hybrid or all-electric versions of their models, while the advantage of hydrogen fuel cells is that zero emissions are already in line with the undoubtedly inflatable speed of fuel vehicles, which are more suitable for commercial vehicles and passenger cars that have been on the road for a long time.

The cooperation between Bosch and powercell can not only integrate the technology of both sides, but also save R & D costs and shorten R & D time. Dr. Stephen, Bosch's board of directors and head of travel solutions, said that the alliance with Powercell will make it stronger, and it has an advantage in the commercial application of automotive components.

As an auto parts manufacturer, Bosch started the research and development of auto parts as early as the 1920s, earlier than the mechanical and electrical and household products that we are familiar with now. The earliest electronic ignition devices for cars were put into use in 1915, and now more than half of the ESP (electronic body stabilization assistance system) of domestic car manufacturers are provided by Bosch.

In China, Honda's CRV was recalled because of the brake system, while Honda executives explained that there was a problem with the i-booster brake system provided by Bosch, while Bosch listed that except for CRV, Tesla, BMW, GM and other well-known manufacturers all adopted this model of brake system without any accident.

It can be seen that Bosch has a high market share in the field of automotive mechatronics, and this cooperation with powercell shows that Bosch's next step is to aim at the fuel cell system used in the model, and hopes to slowly expand to the market share of passenger cars through penetration in the commercial vehicle market.
