Appearance: the new Lantu FREE adopts a brand-new design style, and the front face is equipped with a horizontal waterfall intake grille, which is divided into upper and lower parts to increase the ventilation of the grille, the interior is also flattened, and the headlight group is connected to the medium net to enhance the overall visual hierarchy. Both sides of the front of the car are equipped with a narrow LED headlamp group shape, making the front face of the whole vehicle full of movement. The taillights still use cash through taillights and water steering taillights, but the rear wing and rear diffuser are added to the rear part, which looks more dynamic than the cash. In terms of power, the new Lantu FREE is replaced with a 1.5T booster provided by Dongan Power, with a maximum power of 150hp, an increase of 12.5% compared with the cash. The front and rear electronically controlled four-wheel drive system is composed of double motors, with a maximum power of 490hp, equipped with 37.55kwh lithium battery pack, pure electric mileage 160km, and comprehensive cruise mileage up to 1200km.

This time, judging from the price of the new Lantu FREE, there is still a great discount. It is worth noting that since entering the second half of the year, the price war among car companies is not over, and even more and more intense. A number of car companies joined the price war in early August, and Tesla also cut prices on August 14. In this context, the price positioning of the new Lantu FREE also appears to be particularly critical. After all, since the establishment of the Lantu brand, its sales have not been remarkable.

At present, Lantu Automobile has not only the new Lantu FREE, but also the old Lantu FREE, MPV dreamer and car chasing light and other models. Among them, the old Lantu FREE will be listed in June 2021, and the Lantu Dreamer will be listed on May 7, 2022. Lantu's third model, Lantu Yuguang positioning "Chinese-style luxury electric car", went on sale on April 18, 2023. From the positioning of Lantu's models, it covers SUV, MPV and car models, but none of them is a popular product.

Relevant data show that the sales volume of Lantu is 6791 in 2021 and 19409 in 2022. Officials set an annual sales target of 46000 units in 2022, but then set a sales target of 31000. According to the latest sales target of 31000 vehicles, Lantu cars reached only 62.6 per cent of the annual target in 2022. In 2023, Lantu car sales are still in the doldrums and the decline in the market has not been reversed, with a total of 18443 vehicles sold from January to July, less than the one-month sales of the new mainstream car-building forces.

In fact, Lantu's poor car sales have something to do with its product positioning and popularity. As a new high-end new energy brand, the first product is priced in the price range of 30-400000 yuan, but it is not easy to gain a firm position in this price range. After all, the brand awareness of Lantu car is not high, and most consumers who choose fuel cars in this price range will choose traditional luxury brands such as BBA, while consumers who choose new energy vehicles may consider high-end new energy models such as Model Y, Xilai ES6 and ideal ONE. This time, affected by the price war and poor sales, Lantu Motor changed its previous pricing style and priced the new Lantu FREE at 266900 yuan. this measure may help Lantu Motors to enter the market range of less than 300000 yuan, but whether it can eventually be recognized by the market remains to be verified.
