At the Chengdu Auto Show, which opened on August 25, Jietu Traveler, a subsidiary of Jietu Automobile, opened pre-sale. Five models of new cars were launched, with pre-sale price ranging from 140,900 yuan to 180,900 yuan.

The Jetu Traveler is the first model of the Jetu light off-road series. The new car is positioned as a medium-sized SUV with 1.5T and 2.0T engines in advance. The new car will be officially launched in September, and the plug-in hybrid version is expected to be available next year.

In terms of appearance, the overall shape of the new car adopts a tough and retro design style, similar to Ford Bronco and Tank 300. The middle net of the front face adopts blackened treatment design, and forms a visual effect of penetrating connection with the headlight group. The LED lamp belt inside the headlight group on both sides adopts square outline design, and the decoration plate is equipped with "JETOUR" English LOGO and breathing lamp, which is highly recognizable after lighting. In addition, the front surround of the new car is equipped with a wide size guard plate, highlighting the wildness of the vehicle.

At the rear of the car, the new car also uses a tough design style, with a narrow upper and wide lower design, an external spare tire design, and a transparent taillight set that adds fashion. The rear surround design echoes the front surround design well, and the chassis and suspension parts adopt a load-bearing body with independent rear suspension.

In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4785/2006/1880 (1915) mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2800 mm. For comparison, Chery Exploration 06 has a length, width and height of 4538/1898/1680mm and a wheelbase of 2672mm respectively; Haval Dog has a length, width and height of 4620/1890/1780mm and a wheelbase of 2738 mm. By contrast, the new car is larger in size.

Interior part, new car center console uses a lot of linear elements, with a variety of color schemes, looks quite fashionable. The car is equipped with 10.25-inch LCD instrument, 15.6-inch central control screen and double-flat steering wheel, and equipped with rear privacy glass, streaming media rearview mirror, front ventilation + heating, main and co-driver warning seat belt, 128-color atmosphere lamp and other practical configurations, the overall sense of science and technology is strong.

On July 26,2022, Jietu Automobile released a brand-new brand LOGO at the brand renewal appraisal meeting. The new LOGO was based on the initial letters "J" and "T" and evolved from the official script "Xing". Meanwhile, it announced that the brand-new product strategy of Jietu Automobile in the future would be based on X, T, P and V product series layout, focusing on SUV, hard-core off-road, hard-core pickup truck and MPV models respectively, forming the plan of "4 urban SUV+3 cross-border series +N hybrid models".

Up to now, Jetu Automobile has basically completed the two-way layout in the field of fuel and new energy. Its models on sale include Jetu Great Sage, X90 Zilong, X90 PLUS, X90, New X70S, X70 Zhuge, X70 PLUS, X70, X70M, X70 Coupe, X70S, X95 Chieftain Edition, X95 Extreme Edition, X70S-EV and other models. However, at present, Jetu has only one pure electric model Jetu X70S EV, and its market performance is relatively marginal. However, Li Xueyong, deputy general manager of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., general manager of Chery Automobile Marketing Company and general manager of Jietu Automobile, once said: "Jietu plans to realize comprehensive new energy by 2024."

According to the plan, the annual sales target of Jetu Automobile in 2023 has been set at 500,000 vehicles, but it is extremely difficult for Jetu Automobile to achieve this target from the current sales situation. Data show that from January to July this year, the cumulative sales volume of Jetu cars was 133,900 vehicles, an increase of 72.2% year-on-year, and only 26.78% of the annual sales target was achieved.

When talking about the current situation of the automobile market, Li Xueyong said in an interview with Russian media: "The competition in the automobile market is really fierce. We have been talking about competition from 'secret war' to 'open war', and now it has entered the decisive stage." However, Zhang Chunwei, assistant general manager of Jietu Automobile and general manager of Jietu Automobile Marketing Company, revealed: "I am confident that there will be better performance in the next three or four quarters."
