A few days ago, Subaru Automobile (China) Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the Administration of defective Automobile products recall and the measures for the implementation of defective Automobile products recall regulations. Since October 8, 2023, a total of 447 imported CROSSTREK series cars produced during the period from May 19, 2023 to June 6, 2023 have been recalled.

The announcement shows that the instrument panel harness of some vehicles within the scope of this recall may interfere with the edge of the steering beam bracket, resulting in damage to the wire insulation and short circuit of the wire core. Short-circuited wires may cause instrument lights not on, brake lights not on, rearview cameras can not display, etc.; in serious cases, the engine may be stalled and can not be restarted, resulting in safety risks.

In view of the above defects, Subaru Automobile (China) Co., Ltd. will check the wiring harness of the instrument panel for vehicles within the recall area free of charge, and install a protective plate at the edge of the steering beam bracket to prevent damage caused by interference between the wire harness and the steering beam bracket. If the insulating layer of the wire is damaged but the wire core is not exposed, wrap protective tape on the damaged wire; if the wire core is exposed, replace the instrument panel wire harness to eliminate safety risks.

It is worth mentioning that Subaru Crosstrek has only been on the market for less than half a year. Subaru Crosstrek was officially launched at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, with a total of three new models with a price range of 19.98-230800 yuan.

As a replacement of Subaru XV, Subaru Crosstrek adopts a new family design style. In terms of appearance, the new car is equipped with a brand-new family-style front grille, supplemented by horizontal through-and-through decoration strips, and the brand LOGO is embedded in the center. The new shape of the headlamp group is used on both sides, and the black decoration of the fog lamp area forms a similar "C" shape style, with a high degree of overall recognition. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the Subaru Crosstrek are 4495/1800/1600mm, wheelbase 2670mm, positioning compact SUV.

In the interior part, Subaru Crosstrek is also newly designed, with an 11.6-inch central control screen that supports the interconnection of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phones. Some physical buttons with common functions are still retained below for easy operation, and the new car will also be equipped with the latest version of the EyeSight driving assistance system.

In terms of power, the new Subaru Crosstrek is equipped with a 2.5L horizontally opposed naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 124kW and a peak torque of 252Nm. The transmission system matches the CVT continuously variable transmission and is equipped with a full-time all-wheel drive system.

Subaru XV was born on the new wing leopard platform and was launched in April 2011. it is a cross-border derivative of wing leopard, which is a model with the previous wing leopard XV. On the new wing leopard platform, Subaru stripped it out of the wing leopard car system and named it Subaru XV, which is equivalent to upgrading from an original model to a car line. In the domestic market, Subaru XV was introduced in 2012 and experienced three iterations. However, as an imported brand, Subaru Crosstrek is doomed to low sales.

In addition to Subaru Crosstrek, Subaru BRZ also launched a recall, Subaru Motor (China) Co., Ltd. from December 4, 2023, recalled some imported BRZ series cars produced between February 17, 2022 and April 13, 2022, totaling 538.

The announcement shows that the vehicles within the scope of the recall due to the circuit design of the parts in the rear combination lights, the post-LED turn signal lights and the rear LED hazard warning signal lights may not be lit briefly, unable to provide timely warning information for the rear car, increasing the risk of vehicle collision and the existence of safety risks. In view of product defects, Subaru Automobile (China) Co., Ltd. will replace the improved left and right rear lights for vehicles within the recall range free of charge, in order to eliminate safety risks.
