As a medium-term revamped model, the new car has only fine-tuned the exterior design, but the interior design has been completely renovated with a 27-inch integrated central control screen, which has a stronger overall sense of technology, and the new car is expected to go on sale in South Korea on October 11. As a reference, the GV80 on sale in China is equipped with 2.5T engines with a price range of 530800-653800 yuan.

In terms of appearance, the new car basically continues to use the old model design style, the front face uses a large shield-shaped large mouth grille, the visual effect is quite eye-attracting, on both sides of the grille is a double-layer design of headlights. In addition, the new car has been upgraded for the encirclement, the shape of the air intake on both sides of the front bumper has been adjusted, and the visual effect is more simple, with a black honeycomb structure to further increase the sports atmosphere of the whole car.

On the side of the body, the new car adopts the standard large-back sedan running line, which obviously sinks behind the B-pillar, and the side window narrows obviously, with a new shape of 20-inch and 22-inch rims, which is full of movement. the new car is surrounded by bright color chrome plating decoration to enhance the hierarchical sense of the vehicle. In the rear part, the lines of the new car are very beautiful, the upper spoiler adopts a segmented design, the rear door also uses a ducktail design, and the exhaust is a hidden design, so the overall recognition is good.

In terms of size, the official has not yet announced. As a reference, the current model is 4945/1975/1725mm in length, width and height, and 2955mm in wheelbase. It is expected that the new model will be fine-tuned on this basis.

The interior is the biggest change in the new car, which is equipped with a new 27-inch integrated suspension OLED screen, a newly designed two-color steering wheel, air conditioning / multimedia control area, water cup holder, etc., making the visual effect more simple. In addition, the new car offers a variety of interior materials made of wood, aluminum and leather, as well as a rear headrest entertainment screen, showing the tonality of a luxury brand. In terms of seat layout, the new car adopts three rows of layout.

In the power section, the new Genisse GV80 offers 2.5T in-line four-cylinder engines and 3.5T V6 twin-turbocharged engines in the South Korean market, with a maximum power of 304hp and a maximum torque of 422Nm; a 3.5t engine with a maximum power of 380hp and a maximum torque of 530Nm; the light hybrid model consists of a 3.5t engine and an electromechanical supercharger with a maximum power of 426hp and a maximum torque of 549Nm. The transmission system will match the 8-speed automatic gearbox, and the whole system will be equipped with full-time four-wheel drive system. The Genisese GV80 model sold in the domestic market is equipped with 2.5T engine, the maximum power is 223kW, the peak torque is 422Nm, the transmission system matches 8-block self-integrated gearbox and full-time all-wheel drive system.

From the positioning of the new car, the new car will compete with models such as BMW X5 and BMW X6. However, at present, the news about new cars is still very limited, and the follow-up attention of the auto industry will continue to follow.

Data show that GENESIS, an independent luxury brand of Hyundai Motor Group of Korea, was established in November 2015 and officially entered the Chinese market in April 2021. Although the Genisis brand has only been in the Chinese market for about two years, it has successively laid out a number of models in China. According to the official website, its domestic products include G70, GV70, G80, GV80 and GV60 models.

In November 2022, Genisseth unveiled three pure electric models, G80, GV70 and GV60. Among them, GV60 was launched in March this year and built on E-GMP pure electric platform. It is the first model of Genisseth brand based on pure electric platform, positioning pure electric medium-sized cross-border SUV. The price of deluxe version starts from 285800 yuan, and that of flagship version starts from 351800 yuan. GV70 listed in May, positioning luxury medium-sized SUV, is the first medium-sized SUV under Genisse, introduced into the domestic market in the form of imports, the car launched a total of two models, the luxury version of the model price is 329800 yuan, the flagship version of the price is 405800 yuan, power, the whole series is equipped with 2.5L in-line four-cylinder turbocharged engine, the maximum power 223kW, the maximum torque 422Nm Match 8 block hand self-integrated transmission.

It should be noted that although there are many products of Genisis, due to the relatively small number of brands, the development of Genisseth in the domestic market is not smooth, and even domestic consumers do not have much impression of this luxury brand. For the domestic market, whether it is brand appeal or performance-to-price ratio, Genisse does not have an advantage, coupled with the low domestic recognition of Korean cars represented by Hyundai, under this background, it is difficult for Genisai to stand out.

According to new car compulsory insurance purchase data, Genisis sold only 1457 vehicles in China in 2022, compared with the annual sales of ultra-luxury brand Rolls-Royce of more than 1500 vehicles. Among the subdivided models, the sales of G70, G80 and GV80 were 226,832 and 399 respectively.

According to the plan, all new models of Genisys will become pure electric models by 2025, with 100% zero emissions by 2030 and net zero carbon emissions by 2035. As for whether a number of models can reopen the development of the Genisis brand after the launch, there may be an answer soon.
