Since November 3,2023,851 domestic E-class vehicles with production dates from April 3,2023 to April 21,2023 have been recalled.

The reason for the recall is that some vehicles within the scope of this recall cannot be completely screwed into the connecting hole due to the deviation of the supplier's production process, and the position of the guide plate of the traction ring connecting hole on the rear cross member is offset. When the rear traction device is used for traction operation, it may cause loose connection and there is potential safety hazard. In view of the above defects, Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will check the position of the rear cross member traction ring connection hole guide plate for vehicles within the recall scope free of charge through Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers, and replace the rear cross member if the position is incorrect to eliminate safety hazards.

Mercedes-Benz E-class is a heavy model of Mercedes-Benz brand. It is a medium-and large-sized high-end business sedan developed between C-class and S-class by Mercedes-Benz. It is also one of the benchmark models of luxury brand medium-and large-sized sedan. It mainly competes with BMW 5 Series and Audi A6L in the automobile market. According to the data, the cumulative sales volume of Mercedes-Benz E-Class in 2022 was 123,900, BMW 5 Series was 154,000 and Audi A6L was 117,700. It is worth mentioning that the brand-new domestic Mercedes-Benz E-class long-wheelbase version (code V214) has been officially released in the middle of this month. If nothing unexpected happens, the car will be officially launched at the 2023 Guangzhou Auto Show.

In addition to recalling domestic E-class vehicles, domestic GLC SUV vehicles were also recalled in the recall announcement issued by the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration.

Since November 20,2023, a total of 8108 domestic GLC SUV vehicles with production dates from February 16,2023 to May 10,2023 have been recalled.

The reason for the recall is that some vehicles within the scope of this recall cannot be completely screwed into the connecting hole due to the small inner diameter size of the front cross member traction ring connecting bushing. When the front traction device is used for traction operation, the connection may be loose, and there is a potential safety hazard. In response to the above defects, Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will inspect the front cross member traction ring connection bushing size free of charge through Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers for vehicles within the scope of recall from November 20,2023. For vehicles whose size does not meet the requirements, the front cross member will be replaced from March 20, 2024 to eliminate safety hazards.
