According to the announcement, brilliance BMW and BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products, filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration and decided to recall the following vehicles.

1. Brilliance BMW Co., Ltd. has recalled a total of 41446 5-series plug-in hybrid vehicles manufactured from December 11, 2017 to December 7, 2019.

The reason for the recall is that the dual-battery unit module of the vehicle high-voltage battery within the scope of this recall may have relative displacement due to design reasons, resulting in insulation failure. At this point, the high voltage system will turn off and light up the fault light and pop up the fault message, but the engine will work normally. In extreme cases, if the cell comes into contact with the battery shell, the risk of thermal runaway can not be ruled out and there is a hidden danger of safety. In view of the above defects, brilliance BMW Co., Ltd. will replace the dual battery unit modules of all four high-voltage batteries for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge, in order to eliminate safety risks.

Second, BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will recall a total of 4519 imported 7-series cars manufactured from October 13, 2022 to January 26, 2023.

The reason for the recall is that due to the excellent material of the wiper connecting rod in the scope of this recall, the connection between the connecting rod and the shaft may be worn and loose, resulting in the wiper can not work properly, affecting the driver's field of vision, there are safety risks. In view of the above defects, BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will inspect the wiper connecting rod for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge and replace it if necessary to eliminate safety risks.

Judging from the above recall announcement, the number of models recalled this time is not particularly large. It should be noted that according to the previous statistics of Automotive Industry concern, in the first half of this year, the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration issued a total of 68 car recall announcements, involving 29 car brands, with a total recall of 2.4744 million vehicles. BMW has issued five recall announcements, with a total recall of 266468 vehicles, ranking third in the domestic recall list in the first half of 2023. The recalled models involve domestic i3, iX3, 3 series, 5 series and imported 4 series, X4, 7 series, i4, i7, iX and so on. Among them, on January 17, BMW may recall 171800 domestic 5-series due to vehicle software problems.
