Rosso joined Audi USA in 2003 and served as Chief Marketing Officer. In December 2018, he officially succeeded Scott Keogh, who was transferred to Volkswagen Group, as Audi USA CEO, taking charge of the Audi brand operations in the United States. However, he left after less than half a year in office.

Audi did not give a specific reason for Rosso's departure, but affirmed Rosso's work. Audi has set a sales record for seven years in a row, and the profitability of local dealers has also greatly increased.

Audi also said that the new CEO O'Brien also has a wealth of experience in the field of car sales.

Audi's market position in the US is lower than that of Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Lexus. Sales in the US reached 15024 in April, down 21 per cent from a year earlier, while Audi's US sales fell 8.7 per cent in the first quarter.
