Although the official Chinese name of Subaru SOLTERRA has not been released yet, entering the new car into the "vehicle purchase tax-exempt new energy vehicle model catalogue" means that the name is basically confirmed.

At the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show, Subaru SOLTERRA made its debut in China. The new car is the first electric car based on e-Subaru global platform and is sister to Toyota bZ4X. In terms of appearance, the new car adopts a rather personalized design with relatively strong cross-border attributes, and its front face uses a closed grille to outline the outline with black lines, which still gives people a sense of vision of the traditional "front grille". In addition, the sharp headlamp group will appear on the new car, the front part of the black surrounded with silver guard, angular shape also makes the visual effect of the whole car more wild.

On the side of the body, the Subaru Lansi is younger and more stylish than other SUV models. The new car is equipped with exaggerated black panels at the wheel arch and side skirt, and the charging interface is located at the side wing. In addition, the figure of the new car is relatively low, creating a young and fashionable visual feeling. In the rear part, the new car also uses a sporty design, and the taillights are lit with a high degree of recognition, with the spoiler designed separately above, the shape is very novel. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4690/1860/1650mm and the wheelbase is 2850mm.

In terms of interior decoration, due to the sister models of the Toyota bZ4X, the interior design of the two models is very similar, with the dashboard relatively close to the bottom of the front windshield, while the 12.3inch suspension center control screen is connected to the lower center control area, which has a stronger visual sense of integrity. In addition, the new car will adopt a very regular design on the center console, a suspended central control screen will appear on top of the new car, and a wide range of touch panels will be integrated with a wealth of functional buttons. In terms of configuration, the new car is equipped with mobile phone wireless charger, streaming media rearview mirror, 360 panoramic sound and inductive trunk and other functions; the four-wheel drive version is also equipped with panoramic skylight.

In terms of power, according to official information, the new car offers two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions for users to choose from. The maximum power of the two-wheel drive motor is 150 kilowatts and the peak torque is 266 Nm; the maximum power of the four-wheel drive system is 160 kilowatts and the peak torque of the system is 338 Nm. The car is equipped with a power battery with a capacity of 71.4kWh. Under WLTC conditions, the comprehensive mileage of the two-wheel drive version is 567km and that of the four-wheel drive version is 542km.

Of course, as an imported brand, as a Japanese electric car and with reference to Toyota bZ4X sales, even if Subaru SOLTERRA enters the Chinese market, it is difficult to get satisfactory results. The Subaru SOLTERRA is available in three configurations: Premium46220 dollars (301700 yuan), Limited $49720 (324500 yuan) and Touring $53220 (347400 yuan), according to Subaru's American website.

Subaru is accelerating the pace of transformation and will launch four new cross-border electric vehicles by the end of 2026. As part of the electrification plan, a production line at the Subaruya plant will produce 200000 electric vehicles a year from 2026. In addition, Subaru will add another dedicated electric vehicle production line in Japan's Daquan plant as early as 2027, with an annual production capacity of 200000 vehicles. From 2028, the annual output of the two production lines will reach 400000 vehicles. According to the plan, Subaru electric cars and hybrids will account for more than 40% of global sales by 2030.
