Next year, the Baojun brand will launch four new cars, including the five-door Hyatt Plus and the brand's flagship sedan EQ200, Zhou Yan, deputy general manager of SAIC GM's Wuling brand division, said on his Weibo account "Zhou Jinkai" on Dec. 20.

Earlier, Zhou Ying said on Weibo that Wumen Baojun Hyatt also continues the hardline design style of Sanmen Bao Junyue in appearance, and the price will be lower than iCar 03. As a reference, the current price range of Sanmen version Yue is 79800-89800 yuan; the pre-sale range of iCar 03 is 129800-185800 yuan.

Baojun EQ200 will be the flagship car of Baojun brand, and it is expected to compete with BYD Seal, Deep Blue SL03, Zero run C01 and other models after its launch. Prior to the spy photos of the new car has been exposed online, the new car uses the "machine armor" design style, the overall visual effect is very science fiction. The front face of the new car uses a closed grille design, with penetrating T-type LED light belts on both sides, and sharp headlight groups on both sides, it looks very avant-garde. The lower encirclement and the areas of the light groups on both sides create an exaggerated aerodynamic style. The side of the body also uses a large number of tension lines, with large-size rims to show a full sense of strength. However, as of press time, the information about new cars is still very limited, and the follow-up attention of the auto industry will continue to follow.

Baojun is one of the main brands under SAIC GM Wuling. In the early days, with Baojun 730, Baojun 510 and Baojun 310 popular models, Baojun achieved a record annual sales of more than 1 million vehicles, and came to the same level as Geely and Great Wall of its own brand camp. However, with the rapid reshuffle of the car market, Baojun failed to keep up with the pace of the market. Data show that Baojun sold 59722 vehicles in 2022, with monthly sales of less than 5000. The situation has not been improved since 2023, with cumulative sales of 29086 vehicles in the first 11 months of this year, with monthly sales of about 2600 vehicles.

Or in order to reverse the decline of sales, Baojun made targeted adjustments to its brand positioning and product lineup. In May this year, Baojun Automobile released a new LOGO, which comprehensively entered the new energy track with the simpler and younger new LOGO as the starting point, and became another automobile brand to announce the full entry of new energy. As the first mass-production model with the new LOGO, Baojun Yue also launched the flagship version and Zhizun version, priced at 79800 yuan and 89800 yuan respectively, with a permanent magnet synchronous drive motor with a maximum power of 68 horsepower (50 kilowatts) and a peak torque of 140Nm.

In August, Zhou announced that the Baojun brand would fully transform into new energy and launch three new cars next year. And revealed several small goals about the Baojun brand: 1, the annual turnaround brand: Baojun car; 2, the annual small pure electric SUV sales champion: Baojun Yueya; 3, the year's most popular comfortable large 5-seat pure electric household car: Baojun Yunduo; however, Zhou Jinkai did not mention Baojun Yue and Baojun Yunduo specific sales targets.

So far, Baojun's models for sale include Baojun 730, Baojun 730, Baojun E200, Baojun RC-5, Baojun RM-5, Baojun RS-3, Baojun KiWi EV, Baojun Yue and Baojun Yunduo. Data show that since Baojun Yue also went on sale, it has sold 13458 vehicles, making it the highest-selling model under Baojun Motors. As for whether a number of new cars will be able to achieve a second surge in sales next year, we can only wait and see.
