According to public data, Changsha Jidu Information Service Co., Ltd. was established in September 2023, the legal representative is Xia Yiping, with a registered capital of 10 million yuan, is an enterprise mainly engaged in motor vehicles, electronic products and daily product repair industry. The company is wholly owned by Jidu Technology (Wuhan) Co., Ltd., which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jidu Automobile (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd.

In October 2023, the industry and commerce of the company changed, and the name of Changsha Jiji and Yue Automobile Service Co., Ltd. was changed to Changsha Jidu Information Service Co., Ltd.

In January 2021, Baidu and Geely Holdings announced a partnership to build smart cars based on the vast SEA Intelligent Evolutionary experience Architecture, the world's leading pure electric architecture newly developed by Geely. In March 2021, Jidu Company completed its registration and was named "Jidu Automobile Co., Ltd." with a registered capital of 2 billion yuan and Xia Yiping as its legal representative.

In December of the following year, Jidu Automobile took part in the 2022 Guangzhou International Auto Show and unveiled its ROBO-01. The car is based on Geely SEA's vast architecture and is positioned as a medium and large SUV. In April 2023, at the Shanghai Auto Show, the media reported that Jidu Automobile did not have the qualification to build cars, and the relevant departments required the exhibitors to have the qualification to build cars. As a result, the organizers of the Shanghai Auto Show rejected Jidu Automobile's request to participate in the exhibition. Jidu Automobile later clarified that the absence from the Shanghai Auto Show was made according to the marketing rhythm of its own products and was not rejected by the organizers because of its lack of qualifications.

In August 2023, Geely holding Group officially announced the upgrading of Baidu Geely strategic cooperation, its new car robot brand "Jiyue" was established, and the first model was named "Jiyue 01". And Ji Yue Automobile is actually renamed from Jidu Automobile. As for why to change the name, people familiar with the matter have said: "at present, the domestic automobile production qualification examination is strict, and the name change may be related to compliance."

To put it simply, the original Jidu Automobile is a joint venture brand formed by Baidu and Geely, in which Baidu is the leader, and Jidu Automobile can be regarded as the carrier of Baidu car, but because Jidu Automobile lacks production qualification and does not have the ability of production and sales, Jidu Automobile is finally shelved and later becomes Jiyue Automobile. Baidu commissioned Geely Holdings to produce its vehicles, that is, OEM production, but at this time Baidu became the enabler. Provide services for Ji Yue Automobile in terms of AI technical capabilities such as intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving and Wen Xin Yiyan.

At present, the first pure electric SUV-- Jiyue 01 has been listed in October 2023, the price range is 24.99-339900 yuan, the car is based on the same SEA Haohan structure as polar krypton 001, positioning pure electricity in large-scale SUV, power to provide single-motor and dual-motor version models, with a maximum range of 720km.
