Volkswagen (China) sales Co., Ltd., FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd. and SAIC-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the Administration of defective Automobile products recall and the measures for the implementation of defective Automobile products recall, filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, and decided to recall a total of 92621 vehicles from June 28th, 2019.

Recall models:

(1) Volkswagen (China) sales Co., Ltd.

Recall a total of 60027 imported Beetle, Shangku and Golf cars produced during the period from December 9, 2008 to March 12, 2015.

(2) FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd.:

1. Recall some of the imported Audi A1 and A3 series cars produced during the period from March 4, 2010 to November 21, 2014, totaling 28707.

2. Recall some of the 2013 domestic Suiteng, Golf, Maiteng, Volkswagen CC and Bora cars produced between December 18, 2012 and February 3, 2013, totaling 1472.

(3) SAIC Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd.:

Recall some of the 2012-2013 domestic Tuan, Mingrui, Lang Yi, Hao Rui and Passat cars produced between December 10, 2012 and March 2, 2013, totaling 2415.

Reasons for recall:

Some vehicles within the scope of this recall use the upper shell of the electromechanical unit of the gearbox produced by a specific supplier within a certain period of time, and the thread of the fixed accumulator may crack in use and cause a drop in oil pressure. in some cases, the clutch is no longer coupled, resulting in the loss of driving power and safety risks.

Solution:

Volkswagen (China) sales Co., Ltd., FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd. And SAIC-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. will inspect the upper shell of the gearbox for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge. If confirmed as the parts provided by the supplier involved, replace the improved upper shell maintenance kit to eliminate safety risks.
