Porsche released the official picture of the new Taycan model on Feb. 7, Beijing time. As a medium-term revamped model, the new car introduces a three-car sedan and Cross Turismo (hunting version), and adjusts the appearance details, configuration, chassis and power.

In terms of appearance, the front face of the new car has changed greatly, canceling the complex light group design of the old model, and replacing it with a concise styling style similar to that of the new Panamera, which is sharper as a whole. In terms of subdivision, the overall shape of the new car is basically consistent with the old model, and the main changes are concentrated in the style of headlights and bumpers. The new car uses a new style of HD Matrix high-definition matrix headlamps, the interior uses more than 32000 LED light sources, and the lighting can be dynamically adjusted in real time according to road conditions. In addition, the new car also adjusts the air intake around the bottom to make the aerodynamic effect of the vehicle more excellent.

The side and rear parts of the car body did not change much, only the details were optimized and adjusted. The new car uses a new style of rims with a low wind resistance design, and officials say the new rims improve the range of 40 kilometers under WLTP conditions. In addition, the new car is equipped with electric charging cover and optional electric suction door, and the PORSCHE letter sign of the taillight can emit light.

In the interior part, there is no obvious change in the overall shape of the new car and the old model, but the interior materials and functions have been upgraded, and the main changes focus on the choice of color and materials as well as the new functions on the instrument, and the CarPlay function has been upgraded. Specifically, the new car provides a new two-color color matching, the material, the door interior panel is wrapped in soft material, and provides wireless charging function. The Turbo power version uses an exclusive color matching Logo on the front cover and steering wheel to distinguish identity. In configuration, the new car redesigns the in-car instrument function display, the full LCD instrument can display information such as the current charging power and the maximum power supply power of the vehicle, a new function of Apple CarPlay+ is added for the interconnection between vehicles and machines, and the chassis is upgraded to the same chassis suspension system as Porsche Panamera, from a three-chamber air suspension to a double-chamber air suspension with double-valve shock absorbers, which has a stronger overall sense of science and technology.

In terms of power, the maximum power of the new Taycan basic model is 300kW, the maximum 100km/h acceleration time is 4.8, the maximum range of the new Taycan Turbo S model is 678km, the maximum power of the new Taycan Turbo S model is 700kW (in supercharging mode), and the maximum battery life of the 0-100km/h acceleration time 2.4sMagneWLTP is 630km.

As for the price, the current Porsche Taycan starts at 898000 yuan (excluding any options), while the most expensive Cross Turismo Turbo S model costs 1.838 million yuan.

Porsche is a world-famous luxury car brand of Volkswagen in Germany, which entered the Chinese market in 2001. It is understood that at the 70th anniversary celebration of Porsche, Porsche announced the name of the first pure electric production car-Taycan, named after the jumping horse in the Peugeot Center of Porsche Shield launched in 1952. In October 2018, Porsche plans to launch its first all-electric car, the Taycan, which can restore 80 per cent of its battery in just 15 minutes, claiming to be among the fastest in the industry. As Porsche's first all-electric sports car, the Porsche Taycan was officially launched in September 2019. It is based on the Porsche Mission E concept car and is highly resilient in terms of appearance and performance.

In April 2022, Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo officially unveiled in China and announced the pricing; in October 2022, the new Porsche Taycan GTS domestic pricing was announced, the price is 1.392 million yuan, in terms of power performance, the car speeds up to 3.7s and WLTP reaches 504km.

According to statistics, up to now, Taycan has sold a total of 150000 vehicles worldwide, and the main sales markets include the United States, Britain, Germany and China.

According to sales figures released by Porsche, Porsche sold 320221 vehicles worldwide in 2023, an increase of 3% over the same period last year. Among them, the total delivery volume in China was 79283, making it the largest single market in the world, but it was also the only market in the world that declined, down 15% from a year earlier to 2017 levels. For reference, Porsche delivered 65246 vehicles in the Chinese market in 2017 and 80108 in 2018. In terms of vehicle segments, the Porsche model with the highest delivery volume was the Cayenne, which was 87553, down 8% from the same period last year. Panamera delivered 87355, Panamera delivered 34020, and 718 delivered 20518, an increase of 13% over the same period last year. 911 delivered 50146, an increase of 24%, while the Taycan delivered 40629, up 17%.

It is understood that Porsche's new all-electric Macan was unveiled in Singapore on January 25. The Macan is Porsche's second all-electric model and the first all-electric SUV, based on the PPE platform, with a completely new design language and some design elements drawn from the Porsche Taycan, while the interior is similar to the new Porsche Caynne, equipped with 800V power system and a permanent magnet synchronous motor with hairpin windings. Both Macan 4 and Macan Turbo adopt dual-motor four-wheel drive system, in which Macan 4 has a maximum power of 300kW and peak torque of 650Nm, while Macan Turbo has a maximum power of 470kW and peak torque of 1130 Nm.

According to the plan, by 2025, more than 50% of new cars delivered by Porsche will be electric vehicles; by 2030, more than 80% of new cars delivered will be pure electric vehicles.
