In accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the Administration of defective Automobile products recall and the measures for the implementation of defective Automobile products recall regulations, Changan Ford Motor Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, and decided to recall some 2019 Forrest cars with a total of 19070 vehicles from May 6, 2019.

Scope of recall:

Part of the 2019 Forrest produced from September 1, 2018 to December 15, 2018, totaling 19070.

Reasons for recall:

For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to the problem of the starting motor wire harness fixed card, when a frontal collision occurs, such as the engine cooling fan motor collapses backward and squeezes to the starting motor wire harness, the wiring harness may be damaged by fixed card mounting studs, which in extreme cases may cause short circuit and fire risk, resulting in safety risks.

Solution:

Changan Ford Motor Co., Ltd. will replace the starting motor harness fixed cards that meet the design requirements for vehicles within the recall range free of charge, in order to eliminate safety risks. The vehicles in stock will be sold after the defects have been eliminated.
