AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/06 Report--

According to foreign media reports, at midnight on May 3, US time, a Tesla Model S suddenly burst into flames in a private garage in San Francisco. Fortunately, the fire has been extinguished. This is another fire incident of the car model after the Tesla Shanghai garage incident on April 21.

The San Francisco Fire Department responded to the car fire at midnight last Thursday after receiving a fire alarm at 1300 26th Avenue near Irvington Street.

According to local media reports, the spontaneous combustion Model S was not plugged in at the time of the accident. When rescue workers arrived at the scene for an assessment, they noticed a large amount of smoke coming from the right rear of the vehicle, but it was not clear whether the spontaneous combustion was caused by the battery.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, the fire was brought under control and did not spread to the house. To prevent other accidents, firefighters cut off all the main power lines of the Model S, and firefighters finally dragged the spontaneous combustion Tesla out of the garage. The San Francisco Fire Department wrote on its official Twitter account that the smoke came from the right rear wheels, while components near the right rear tires included brakes, suspensions, motors and battery packs. The fire department said it was still investigating the cause of the fire.

Tesla officials did not say what might have caused Model S to catch fire, although the company is conducting its own investigation. In addition, Tesla is also investigating the incident in which another Tesla Model S suddenly ignited spontaneously in a Shanghai parking lot on April 21. The spontaneous combustion incident was captured by cameras and widely circulated on social media at home and abroad.

Tesla Shanghai officials reached a conclusion and gave a plan on the impact of the spontaneous combustion incident after investigation, but from the statement issued, they were only some basic maintenance items and did not give a detailed reason for the spontaneous combustion. Electric vehicle spontaneous combustion seems to have become a more and more common problem, which requires automobile companies to improve the quality of their cars while improving relevant laws and regulations. I hope this will prevent the accident from happening again.
