The announcement shows that some vehicles within the scope of this recall may be inflated and deformed due to the insufficient resin density of the fuel pump impeller and interfere with the fuel pump shell, resulting in poor operation of the fuel pump and inability to provide normal fuel to the engine. In extreme cases, it may lead to engine flameout while driving, resulting in safety risks. In view of the above defects, Guangzhou Auto Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace the improved fuel pump for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

It is worth mentioning that this recall belongs to the expanded recall of Honda Technical Research Industry (China) Investment Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Automobile Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., and Dongfeng Honda Motor Co., Ltd., which was issued on January 5, 2024.

Among them, Guangzhou Automobile Honda recalled some domestic Acura TLX-L, Acura CDX, Fengfan, Odyssey, Accord, Guandao, Colour Zhi, Feidu, Ling Pai, domestic Acura TLX-L, Acura CDX, Acura RDX, Fengfan, Odyssey, Accord, Guandao, Haoying, Chuanzhi, Feido, Ling Pai, GE Shitu, concept S1, imported Acura RDX, Acura MDX, Acura TLX, a total of 268500 vehicles. Dongfeng Honda recalled domestic Gori, Jingrui, Jade, Civic, Siplatron, Xuan Wei, Siwei, Youwei, Ericsson, Siming, Hengwei, Yingshi School, a total of 252100 vehicles. In addition, Honda China recalled some imported Acura RDX series cars, a total of 46 vehicles. Honda recalled a total of 520600 vehicles because of defective fuel pumps.

In recent months, a number of car companies have conducted product recalls for fuel pump defects in China, such as Mercedes-Benz China / Beijing Mercedes-Benz / Fujian Mercedes-Benz on February 2, 2024, Honda China / Guangzhou Automobile Honda / Dongfeng Honda on January 5, 2024, Toyota China / Guangzhou Automobile Toyota / FAW Toyota on December 1, 2023, etc., more companies may take recall measures in the future. Earlier, the Japanese government announced a recall of 482000 vehicles due to defective fuel pumps produced by Denso companies, involving well-known car companies such as Subaru, Mazda, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Honda and Yamaha, and involving more than 30 models. there are problems in the fuel pumps of these vehicles, which may lead to engine flameout or loss of hybrid motor power, resulting in safety risks.
