On March 5, Great Wall Motor released February production and sales data. According to the data, in February 2024, the sales volume of Great Wall Motors was 71027 vehicles, with a year-on-year growth of 4.12%; the cumulative sales volume from January to February was 175057 vehicles, with a year-on-year growth of 34.91%.

Subdivided into major brands, the brand owned by Great Wall Motor has the highest growth rate in February is Wei brand, and the obvious downward trend is Great Wall pickup truck and Euler brand, both of which fell 39.03% and 32.83% year-on-year respectively.

First look at the Euler brand, as the only pure electric brand owned by Great Wall Motors, the sales volume of Euler brand in February was 3006 vehicles, down 32.83 year-on-year, second only to Great Wall pickup truck. By the end of February, in the first two months of this year, the cumulative sales volume of Euler brand was 9007 vehicles, an increase of 10.50% year-on-year.

The Euler brand was released in August 2018 and is officially defined as "a new energy vehicle that loves women more." Whether it is the black cat, white cat, good cat previously launched, or ballet cat and lightning cat now on sale, these models all revolve around the consumption demand of female users, but since the black cat and white cat stopped selling, Euler's market performance in the automobile market has not been good. Take the retail sales data of 2023 as an example. In 2023, the highest-selling model of Euler brand was Euler Good Cat, with a cumulative sales volume of 73,600 vehicles, lightning cat sales volume of 11,800 vehicles and ballet cat sales volume of 2,700 vehicles respectively.

Compared with Wei brand, February has seen a significant increase. According to the data, the sales volume of Wei brand in February was 2649 vehicles, with a year-on-year growth of 147.11%; the cumulative sales volume from January to February was 6000 vehicles, with a year-on-year growth of 181.95%. In terms of sales data, although Wei brand has increased significantly, its performance in the auto market is far inferior to Haval brand and tank brand. The sales volume of Haval brand in February was 44731 vehicles, with a year-on-year growth of 14.22%, accounting for 62.98% of the total sales volume, which is still the volume model owned by Great Wall Motors; the sales volume in February before 2023 was 103834 vehicles, with a year-on-year growth of 32.52%. At present, Haval models on sale include H5, H6, H9 and M6 of Haval letter series, Haval big dog, Haval second generation big dog, Haval cool dog of dog series, Haval dragon/dragon MAX, Haval raptor, Haval red rabbit, Haval divine beast and other models of dragon series. Among them, Haval H6, Haval big dog and Haval M6 are the main sales sources of Haval brand. Finally, look at the tank brand, February sales of 10164 vehicles, an increase of 60.21% year-on-year; January to February cumulative sales of 30231 vehicles, an increase of 146.60% year-on-year. At present, the tank brand has four models for sale: tank 300, tank 400, tank 500 and tank 700, among which tank 300 is the main sales model and tank 700 is the latest new car on the market. On the evening of February 26, the tank 700 Hi4-T was launched. Three models, namely Extreme Edition, Extreme Edition and Limited Edition, were launched. The price range was 428,000 yuan-700,000 yuan. The power was equipped with 3.0T V6 double turbocharged engine +P2 motor to form a hybrid system. The transmission system matched with 9-speed manual self-contained gearbox. The maximum engine power was 265kW, the comprehensive power reached 385kW and the comprehensive torque reached 800N·m. According to the plan, follow-up tank brands will also launch tank 800 and other models.

Overall, the first two months of this year or achieved a year-on-year growth of 34.91%. This year's auto market is destined to be fiercely competitive, and China's independent brands are rising strongly. As one of the independent brands, Great Wall Motor is bound to face more intense market share competition.
