Here comes another new energy model named after "L7". On March 30th, the first plug-in hybrid SUV-- Dongfeng Fengshen L7 was officially unveiled. The new compact SUV, which uses a new design language in appearance and a new Mach hybrid PHREV technology in power, is expected to be unveiled at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, which opens in April.

Specifically, the overall shape of the new car is similar to that of Fengshen Haohan, with a closed grille design and through-the-day driving lights to create a strong sense of science and technology. Below is a large trapezoidal air inlet to enhance the visual hierarchy of the vehicle.

On the side of the body, the new car has strong lines, the roof adopts slip-back styling and blackening treatment, with chrome-plated line embellishment and hidden door handle design, the overall sense of movement is good. In the rear part, the new car is also simple, and the penetrating rhythmic taillight with dynamic steering indication echoes with the front face design, and at the same time broadens the overall visual feeling of the rear, the exhaust is a hidden layout, and the rear wing is equipped with high brake lights in the middle. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4670mm/1900mm/1625mm, the wheelbase is 2775mm, and the positioning is compact SUV. As a contrast, the length, width and height of Fengshenhao are 4650/1905/1630mm and the wheelbase is 2775mm.

In the interior part, the new car adopts floating island type center console design, equipped with 10.25inch suspension LCD instrument and 13 inch LCD central control screen, standard Qualcomm Snapdragon 9155 chip, equipped with WindLink 2.0 intelligent system, the overall sense of science and technology.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine and a motor, model DFMC15TE3, with a maximum engine power of 154hp (113kW) and a lithium iron phosphate battery from Sinovel.

Dongfeng Fengshen is an independent passenger car brand of Dongfeng Motor Company. It is headquartered in Wuhan, Hubei Province, and is developed and produced by Dongfeng passenger car Company. It was officially released on March 26th, 2009. The models currently on sale include Haoji, Yixuan, Yixuan MAX, Yixuan GS, AX7 and other models. Although there are many Dongfeng Fengshen models, but its performance in the car market is not ideal. Data show that from 2017 to 2019, Dongfeng Fengshen's sales target is 200000, 200000 and 100000 respectively, while the actual sales are only 125000, 95000 and 75000. According to the data, Dongfeng Fengshen failed to achieve its sales target in the past three years, and the actual sales volume also showed a downward trend year by year.

In September 2019, Dongfeng Shenyi Hyun appeared on the market, and the car became a volume model under Dongfeng Fengshen. Based on Dongfeng Fengshen CMP platform to create the first model, positioning compact car, the current price range of 6.49-93900 yuan, power to provide a variety of power combinations of 1.0T+5MT/6DCT and 1.5T+6DCT for consumers to choose, since then, Dongfeng Fengshen launched Easyun GS, Easyun EV, Yixun MAX and other models to improve the product structure of the Yixun family.

Retail data show that Dongfeng Fengshen sold 114753 vehicles in 2023, of which the top three models were Yixuan, Dongfeng Fengshen E70 and Haoji, with cumulative sales of 49156, 31584 and 24868 respectively.

According to the plan, in addition to the unveiled Dongfeng Fengshen L7, Dongfeng Motor has also announced future product plans, which will include 30 new energy passenger vehicles and 14 new energy commercial vehicles in the next three years. 100% electrification of new models of the main brand of independent passenger cars.
