JAC production qualification is no longer used, and has begun to deliver new cars in the name of Weilai.

In "Wei Xiaoli", ideal Automobile and Xiaopeng Automobile have successively obtained production qualification through acquisition, while Weilai has always cooperated with Jianghuai Automobile to achieve complete vehicle manufacturing, and the models sold need to be affixed with the word "Jianghuai Automobile" on the rear. The cooperation between Weilai and Jianghuai Automobile began in 2016. Weilai used JAC production qualification to produce ES8, ES6, EC6 and other models. The cooperation between the two sides was further deepened in 2021 to establish a joint venture Jiang Lai Advanced Manufacturing Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd., to continue to produce ES7, EC7, ET5 and other models for Weilai until May 2024.

In December 2023, Lailai Automotive Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd. appeared in the credit information management system of vehicle production enterprise on the government service platform of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The production address is 299 Baita Road, Economic and technological Development Zone, Hefei City, Anhui Province. The legal representative is Qin Lihong. This means that Weilai has acquired independent production qualification. The map shows that the production address is the Weilai experience Center (Hefei Xinqiao Industrial Park), which is located within the factory area of the second advanced manufacturing base.

In the same month, Jianghuai Automobile issued a progress announcement on the transfer of some assets by public listing. According to the announcement, Lailai Automotive Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd. has become the transferee of one package of assets and three packages of assets, of which the transaction price of one package of assets is 1.666 billion yuan, and the transaction price of the three packages of assets is 1.492 billion yuan, totaling 3.158 billion yuan. It is understood that one package and three packages of assets transferred by Jianghuai Automobile are the two factories that Jianghuai and Weilai cooperate with, that is, Jianghuai Weilai advanced manufacturing base and Weilai second advanced manufacturing base-- Weilai F1 factory / F2 factory. These two factories are built by Wei, but the production qualification comes from Jianghuai Automobile.

The new car-building forces choose to give up contract manufacturing, mainly because the contract manufacturing model has the disadvantages of high cost, and it is also subject to the production and quality control capabilities of traditional automobile companies. For the new car-building forces, taking the initiative of the whole car-building process in their own hands will not only facilitate the rapid iteration of models and cost control, but also improve efficiency if major and deep-seated reforms are carried out in the future.

The acquisition of two factories originally owned by JAC Motor at a price of 3.158 billion yuan, thus obtaining the qualification to build cars independently, will have a more say when negotiating with partners for Ulai in the future, and for car owners, their awareness and goodwill towards the brand will be enhanced after buying the model.

JAC responded that "JAC and Weilai will continue to cooperate, not in contract manufacturing, but in other areas, such as electricity exchange." It is understood that in January this year, Jianghuai Automobile and Weilai reached a strategic cooperation agreement on battery standards, power exchange network construction, battery asset management and other aspects.

For Jianghuai Automobile, the future partners will mainly focus on Volkswagen and Huawei.

In December 2023, Jianghuai Automobile and Huawei Terminal Co., Ltd. signed the "Intelligent New Energy vehicle Cooperation Agreement". Based on Huawei's smart vehicle solution, the two sides will fully cooperate in product development, manufacturing, sales services and other fields. strive to build luxury intelligent networked electric vehicles, through continuous upgrading and iteration of cooperative models to meet users' higher needs and expectations for intelligent vehicles. It is understood that Jianghuai Automobile will become a member of Hongmeng Zhihang, the fourth "boundary" brand of Hongmeng Zhihang, and the first model to cooperate with Huawei will sell for millions.

In March this year, JAC and Volkswagen China increased their capital to the joint venture company by 6.5 billion yuan, of which JAC Motor will contribute 1.625 billion yuan in cash and Volkswagen China will contribute 4.875 billion yuan in cash. After the completion of this capital increase, the registered capital of Volkswagen Anhui will increase from 7.356 billion yuan to 13.856 billion yuan, and the shareholding ratio between JAC and Volkswagen China will remain unchanged. It is understood that the ID.UNYX, the first model of Volkswagen in Anhui, will be on the market this year, with the Chinese name "Yuzhong", built on the MEB platform, and Tavascan are sister models to each other, mainly for domestic supply.
