At the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the domestic Ford Reema was officially put on the market, with a total of seven new models, with a price range of 299800-438800 yuan. The new car is positioned as a hardline off-road model, produced by Jiangling Ford, and will compete with Jeep Horse Shepherd (price range 499900-579900 yuan), equation Leopard 5 (price range 289800-352800 yuan) and tank 300 (price range 199800-330, 000 yuan).

In terms of appearance, the new car continues the styling design of overseas models, and the overall styling is hard and retro. In the front face, the new car adopts a square outline design, a frameless middle net design with retro round headlights on both sides, and the headlights extend through the grille, which has a strong sense of integrity. At the same time, the name of the car is directly embedded in the middle of the grille in the form of the capital letter "Bronco", and the logo of FORD is added to make it highly recognizable. There are trailer hooks commonly used off-road in the surrounding area, with large-size all-terrain AT tires, protruding wheel eyebrows and exposed rear-hanging spare tires to further enhance the hard cross-country flavor of the whole vehicle.

On the side of the car body, the new car adopts a non-load-bearing body structure and a suspension structure with front double fork arms and rear multi-link integral bridge, which looks quite hard. Different from the traditional SUV, the new car provides a detachable roof and side doors, and is equipped with a standard cloth soft roof for easy opening. In addition, the new car is equipped with off-road tires and a front and rear bumper, and the 17-inch bright black rims are decorated with rivets to make the new car look more rugged. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4825/2070/1990mm and the wheelbase is 2950mm.

In the rear part, the new car adopts the vertical taillight design common on hard off-road vehicles, and is equipped with external spare tires, the bottom is a prominent bumper, the rear door is opened sideways, and the rear is marked with the words "strong Horse" and "Jiangling Ford" to enhance identification.

In terms of interior decoration, the new car is also laid out in the traditional off-road style, with a large number of soft bags in the car, which looks quite comfortable. The car is equipped with 12-inch embedded central control screen and SYNC4 on-board infotainment system, and upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, commonly used off-road function buttons are set above the center console, with a variety of function buttons, the overall sense of technology is good.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 2.3T turbocharged engine provided by Changan Ford with a maximum power of 202kW, a maximum torque of 429Nm and a top speed of 161km/h, which matches the 10AT gearbox.

Ford Bronco has a long history. As early as 1966, Ford launched the first generation of Bronco, only four years later than Ford Mustang. Both names mean "Mustang". The difference is that the Ford Bronco focuses on the hard SUV market, while the Ford Mustang focuses on the sports car market, and the former mostly refers to the Mustang in the western United States, which is tough and difficult to tame, so the Ford Bronco is called a "fierce horse" by domestic fans. However, Ford Bronco did not develop as well as Ford Mustang. It stopped production only four years after the launch of the fourth generation model in the 1990s. Ford Bronco also gradually retired from the historical stage and did not make a comeback until July 2020.

With the localization of Ford Rema, the new car will compete with hard off-road models such as Jeep Horse Shepherd (price range 499900-579900 yuan), equation Leopard 5 (price range 289800-352800 yuan) and tank 300 (price range 199800-330, 000 yuan). Off-road models are destined to belong to minority product categories in China, and they rarely enter the list of consumers. On the one hand, they are relatively expensive, on the other hand, they need certain driving skills. As a model with a long history, it is worth looking forward to whether consumers will buy it after listing.
