At the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the GAC Honda e:NP2 2 premium version officially went on sale, with a new car selling for 189800 yuan and a limited time surprise price of 159800 yuan.

The new car is based on the Honda eVOR N Architecture pure electric architecture, and is designed with the future design concept of "EVA N Design". The appearance of the new car is highly restored to the concept car design, and the overall shape is very science fiction. Specifically, the front face of the new car adopts the closed medium net design that is common on pure electric models, with through-type daytime driving lights and "C" shaped light groups and through-type daytime driving light belts, Honda LOGO supports lighting and high recognition, and there is a small-sized front shovel at the bottom of the front enclosure, which looks very sharp.

On the side of the body, the new car adopts a large inclination angle slip-back design, highlighting the dynamic styling style of the new car, equipped with hidden door handles and low-resistance rims to further enhance the young sports orientation of the vehicle. In terms of size, the new car has 4787/1838/1570mm length, width and height, 2735mm wheelbase, 18-inch rims and tire specifications of 225amp 50R18. In the rear part, the new car also adopts a very sci-fi design style, and the through-type taillights are "unfolded" on the left and right sides to form a "C" shape, together with the raised rear wheel eyebrows, which not only enhances the sense of science and technology, but also enhances the muscle sense of the vehicle.

In the interior part, the new car adopts minimalist design style, the car adopts embedded full liquid crystal instrument and large-size central control screen, the instrument is integrated with the through-type air conditioning outlet, and is equipped with HUD head-up display to achieve simple and clear display effect. In addition, the new car is also equipped with the new "Smart Guide connected Honda CONNECT 4.0" and the safe driving assistance system "Safety Supersense Honda SENSING 360".

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a drive motor with a maximum power of 150kW and a maximum torque of 310Nm, which matches the same power battery as the long-range version of e:NP1 (510km version), with a capacity of 68.8kWh and a range of 545km under CLTC conditions.

At the Beijing auto show, Dongfeng Honda's medium-sized car, Shoguang e:NS2, was officially unveiled, and announced that the new car will go on sale on May 1, launching a total of four models with a pre-sale range of 159800 yuan to 179800 yuan. The new car is based on Honda's pure electric architecture "ERAR N Architecture F". It is powered by ternary lithium-ion batteries with a battery capacity of 68.8kWh and the maximum power output of the motor 150kW. The car, which is sister to GAC-Honda e:NP2 2, is expected to go on sale this year.

In April 2022, Honda China launched two pure electric models, the e:NP1/e:NS1, which are also sister models under the eDren brand, the former by Dongfeng Honda and the latter by Guangzhou Auto Honda, targeting the small pure electric SUV, but sales of the two models have been sluggish since their launch. Retail data show that Dongfeng Honda e:NS1 sold 17591 vehicles from January to March, while Guangzhou Auto Honda e:NP1 sold 150 vehicles.

It should be noted that at present, the pure electric medium-sized car segment has a lot of choices for consumers, including Tesla Model 3, extreme Krypton 007 and Xiaopeng P7 and so on. Guangzhou Auto Honda e:NP2 extreme 2 and Dongfeng Honda e:NS2 as the second pure electric model launched by Honda ERAN brand after e:NS1, can the two models make a comeback after the launch?
