It is understood that the power batteries of some vehicles within the scope of the recall may cause a short circuit inside the cell and cause thermal overload due to manufacturing reasons. In extreme cases, it may cause the power battery to catch fire and there is a safety hidden danger. In view of product defects, Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will replace the power battery pack for the recalled vehicles free of charge, or carry out vehicle repurchase to eliminate safety risks. Users can choose one of the two options. Vehicle buyback will be implemented from now on, and the replacement of power battery pack is expected to be implemented from November 1, 2024.

It is understood that the import of domestic sales of Jaguar I-PACE has many problems, has been recalled many times in the country. In May 2019, Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd. recalled 254 2019 imported Jaguar I-PACE vehicles because the response time of the friction braking system compensated braking force did not meet the requirements. Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd. recalled 995 imported 2019-2020 Jaguar I-PACE pure electric vehicles in July 2023 because of possible thermal overload of power batteries, which in extreme cases can cause power batteries to catch fire. Jaguar Land Rover (China) Investment Co., Ltd. recalled 2020 imported Jaguar I-PACE pure electric vehicles in September 2023 because the high-pressure coolant heater in the cabin heating system may not work properly, resulting in the failure of the vehicle's warm air conditioning and the front windshield cannot be defrosted, affecting the driver's line of sight.

The I-PACE is Jaguar's first pure electric car, the SUV, which made its debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Jaguar later introduced the model to the Chinese market at an official price of 63.08-708800 yuan. The comprehensive mileage of the new car positioning luxury pure electric SUV,NEDC is 500km, and the standard model is Tesla Model X. However, sales of this luxury electric car are very poor, especially in the domestic market, Jaguar I-PACE is very difficult to sell, this luxury electric car has been sold per month for many months, and eventually had to stop selling in China. It is understood that the current price of 2019 Jaguar I-PACE used cars is about 15-180000 yuan. In other words, even if Jaguar buys back the 2019 I-PACE, the purchase price will not be very high. Selling cars with broken bones is already an indisputable listing, and it may be better to replace the battery. After all, the battery pack is also expensive.

In addition to Jaguar I-PACE, Porsche Taycan also announced a recall because of power battery problems, and consumers who meet the recall can replace abnormal battery modules free of charge.

Among them, Porsche (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. decided to recall some imported Taycan series electric vehicles produced from January 7, 2020 to December 15, 2023, a total of 1590 vehicles, due to the recall of some vehicles within the scope of the recall, high-voltage power battery module may be short-circuited, in extreme cases may lead to battery module thermal runaway, there is a fire risk. Based on this, Porsche will test the high-voltage power battery of the vehicle within the recall range, and if there is anything abnormal, the abnormal battery module will be replaced free of charge to eliminate safety risks. Prior to the implementation of the recall, it is recommended that users limit the amount of charge to 80%.
