On the evening of May 20th, Roewe Motor's new compact plug-in hybrid SUV-- Roewe D5X DMH officially launched four new models with a price range of 11.98-146800 yuan.

It is understood that the Roewe D5X DMH is the second model of the Roewe D family, and it is also the first SUV model equipped with Roewe DMH super hybrid system. The new car positioning compact SUV, relatively simple design, power equipped with a new 1.5T turbocharged hybrid engine, and equipped with efficient dual-motor hybrid drive, CLTC pure electric mileage up to 135km.

In terms of appearance, the new car uses a design language officially known as "elegant power aesthetics". The front face is a common closed design on new energy models, and both sides are equipped with through headlamp sets, bringing good visual width to the vehicle. In addition, the new car also uses a longitudinal cooling chute, a trapezoidal grille for the lower enclosure, and a brightly colored chrome trim for embellishment, making the vehicle more stylish.

The new car also uses the popular hidden door handle design and offers a choice of 19-inch and 20-inch wheels. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4700/1890/1664mm and the wheelbase is 2765mm. As a comparison, the length, width and height of the Galaxy L7 are 4700/1905/1685mm and the wheelbase is 2785mm, respectively. By contrast, except that the length of the new car is the same as that of the Galaxy L7, the other parameters are slightly smaller.

In the rear part, the new car taillight adopts through-type design, the internal structure is similar to that of Roewe RX5, and the recognition is higher after lighting. The rear part is equipped with a small size roof spoiler, and the rear enclosure is also decorated with chrome-plated accessories to make the tail feel more advanced. The left side of the rear door is marked with the word "DMH", indicating the identity of the plug-in hybrid model.

In the interior part, the new car is mainly simple design, the interior adopts all-black interior design, and the intelligent cockpit design is provided. The center console uses an integrated 24.6in double screen, which is composed of full liquid crystal instruments and multimedia entertainment touch screen. MediaTek 2712 is built-in, equipped with a new zebra smart car system. The steering wheel adopts Roewe D7 DMH with the same two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, which has a good sense of technology as a whole.

In terms of power, the Roewe D5X DMH is equipped with a brand-new 1.5T turbocharged hybrid engine and a high-efficiency dual-motor hybrid drive with P1+P3, with maximum power of 110kW and 145kW respectively, maximum engine power of 110kW, CLTC pure electric battery 135km and integrated 1300km.

At present, Shanghai Auto Rongwei has a number of products, product positioning covers different levels of market segments in the middle and high-end models. Retail data show that SAIC Roewe sold 157200 vehicles in 2023 and 46032 vehicles from January to April this year, of which the Roewe i5 was the highest with 18782 vehicles, followed by the Roewe D7 with 13572 vehicles, and the rest sold less than 5000 vehicles. For example, the Roewe RX5 ranked third with 4780 vehicles. SAIC Roewe urgently needs to launch new cars with more market competitiveness.

Considering the positioning and price of the new car, the new car positioning compact plug-in hybrid SUV, this market segment is particularly competitive in the car market, including BYD Song Pro DM-i, Galaxy L7 and other models will be competitors of the new car.
