On May 23rd, Kia's new small pure electric SUV-- Kia EV3 was officially launched, which will be built on the E-GMP platform. It is understood that Kia EV3 will be the first to land in overseas markets in July, and then it will be introduced to domestic products.

In terms of appearance, the overall large area of Kia EV3 continues the design of the concept car, and the front face uses the family's latest Opposites United (unity of opposites) design language, with a small EV5 style. Specifically, the new car adopts a closed grille design and is connected with a single-bar through-type front and middle net with LED daytime driving light groups on both sides, while the headlight group presents a longitudinal layout and is equipped with a LED lamp group with the same longitudinal layout. Kia EV3 will offer two front enclosure designs, corresponding to the regular version and the GT-Line version, in which the ordinary version uses a near-closed but hierarchical design, while the GT-line uses a more sporty large cooling opening design.

Body side, Kia EV3 side lines tend to be tough design style, but the side surround and wheel eyebrow and other places of the two-color decoration board, blackened ABC column to create a suspended roof effect, and very eye-catching low wind resistance modeling and other elements superimposed, the whole shows a tough temperament but also creates a good sense of fashion. In addition, the new car also uses hidden door handles, and the rear door handles are hidden in the C-pillar position. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4300/1850/1560mm, wheelbase is 2680mm, positioning small pure electric SUV.

In the rear part, the new car is equipped with a small roof spoiler, the taillight group adopts a heterosexual design, and the internal light source presents an irregular strip structure, which has a certain degree of recognition after lighting. The rear encirclement of the new car is also designed in different styles, while the ordinary version is a design idea that shows a good three-dimensional sense and highlights the fashion flavor, while the GT-line version has the same more athletic attributes as the front encirclement.

In terms of interior decoration, the new car will be equipped with a double 12.3inch full LCD dashboard connected to the central multimedia display, built-in Kia's latest generation of ccNC in-car infotainment system, and support for mobile phone interconnection and vehicle OTA upgrades, etc., with a separate 5-inch air-conditioning control touch screen under it and a removable central armrest in the center of the front seat. In addition, the central control area of the new car is equipped with a suspended sliding table design, with a storage compartment below, which can be used with the "backward folding relaxation mode" of the front seats to provide better rest space.

For Kia, the EV3 is a very important model, which marks Kia's official entry into the popular electric car market. In terms of power, the new car will adopt 400V architecture and provide single-motor version and dual-motor four-wheel-drive version. It will provide a rear single motor with a maximum power of 150kW, a maximum torque of 283Nm, a 0-100km/h acceleration time of only 7.5s and a maximum speed of 170km/h per hour. The new car will also have an optional 58.3kWh and 81.4kWh battery packs, which have a range of up to 600km in WLTP and can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 31 minutes in fast charge mode.

At present, Kia Electric SUV series has mass produced EV5, EV6 and EV9 models. In terms of digital order, the EV3 should be the smallest model in the Kia Electric SUV series, so the price should also be the lowest. In the domestic market, domestic Kia EV5 has been listed, the guidance price range is 14.98-225800 yuan, if Kia EV3 can be domestic, the guidance price may be lower than Kia EV5, or it may start to sell around 120000.

At present, the main selling models in the domestic pure electric small SUV market are all about 100000 yuan, and BYD yuan UP, GAC Ean AION Y and other models are extremely competitive.
