Fiat Chrysler will appoint Christian Mesnil as global president of the JEEP brand after Mesnil served as Infiniti's global CEO, Reuters reported.

Infiniti said in a statement on Tuesday that Christian Vandenhende, Nissan's chief quality officer, will also serve as CEO until the next candidate is found. Mesnil, 51, was appointed global chief executive of Infiniti in early January after the departure of his predecessor, CEO Roland Krueger.

Mesnil has a wealth of executive experience and has been responsible for North American and European operations at Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Ford and Land Rover.
