Jianghuai Automobile is suspected of emission fraud! The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment issued a notice on May 5 that Jianghuai Automobile was suspected of substandard motor vehicle pollution control devices and sold at the factory pretending to be qualified products for emission inspection, which would be severely punished and planned to hold a hearing on the case.

Due to Jianghuai Motor's application for an extension of the hearing, the hearing of the case was finally postponed to May 16.

As the hearing has not yet been held, it is not clear about the specific situation of "fraud", and finally it depends on the penalty decision. An insider of Jianghuai Automobile revealed to the media that the models accused of fraudulent emissions this time were mainly commercial vehicles, and in the process of upgrading emission standards, some trucks failed to keep up with their emission capacity.

But so far, the Jianghuai model involved in counterfeiting and its scale are not clear.

In fact, there are also cases of emission fraud in other car companies. The most famous is the Volkswagen diesel throttle incident, in which Volkswagen installed cheating software on production vehicles in an attempt to evade regulatory emissions tests. The diesel emissions scandal has cost the company 30 billion euros (225.7 billion yuan) so far, according to Volkswagen.

In 2018, Nissan was also exposed that it had faked "exhaust emissions" and "fuel consumption measurement" at five factories in Japan, and then found illegal quality inspection operations in six projects, including brakes, speedometer and side slip inspection.

Car sales in 2018 were 462400, down 9.48 per cent from a year earlier, according to JAC figures. Jianghuai car sales from January to April this year were 164000, down 13% from a year earlier.

According to the performance report, JAC Motor's operating income reached 50.161 billion yuan in 2018, an increase of 1.95% over the same period last year, but the net profit belonging to shareholders of listed companies was a loss of 786 million yuan, down 282% from the same period last year.
