The reason for the recall is that due to the lack of pressure resistance of the internal parts of the high-pressure fuel pump, the internal wear of the fuel pump may occur, resulting in cracks in the welding part of the fuel pump due to stress concentration. In extreme cases, fuel may leak from the cracks, so when exposed to external sources of fire, there is a risk of fire. At the same time, fuel leakage, volatilization, there is unreasonable emission harm. In view of the above defects, GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. will inspect the high-pressure fuel pump for the vehicles within the recall range free of charge, and replace the parts that do not meet the requirements with the improved high-pressure fuel pump, in order to eliminate safety risks and unreasonable emission hazards.

It should be noted that this recall belongs to the recall of "FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Automobile Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., Toyota (China) Investment Co., Ltd., which recalled some domestic and imported cars" issued on December 1, 2023.

A total of 83717 imported Lexus RX vehicles manufactured during the period from March 12, 2018 to October 6, 2022 will be recalled from July 19, 2024.
