According to reports, on the evening of July 15, Yu Chengdong, chairman of Huawei terminal BG and smart car solution BU, revealed in a live conversation with Dongfang selection partner Dong Yuhui that the car brand jointly launched by Huawei and JAC Motors is "respecting the boundary" rather than "arrogant". It has been rumored that the joint brand may be named "arrogant".

According to Tianyan check, Huawei applied to register a "respect for boundary" trademark in November last year, which is classified as a category 12 means of transportation. In May this year, the relevant departments announced the preliminary examination and approval of the "Zunjie" trademark, and the objection period was from May 14, 2024 to August 13, 2024.

With regard to the cooperation between JAC and Huawei, there was news in the market as early as the end of 2021 that JAC and Huawei were working together to build cars, but Jianghuai Automobile officials denied the news at that time. Until early December last year, JAC Automobile and Huawei Terminal Co., Ltd. signed the "Intelligent New Energy vehicle Cooperation Agreement". Based on Huawei's smart car solution, the two sides will fully cooperate in product development, manufacturing, sales services and other areas to build luxury intelligent networked electric vehicles, but JAC did not disclose what types of models will be launched in cooperation with Huawei at that time.

It is reported that the first model of Huawei Smart car Business in cooperation with Jianghuai may be a luxury MPV, with a body length of 5.2m and a wheelbase of 3.2m, priced or up to one million, with a planned annual production capacity of 35000 vehicles. It is worth mentioning that on July 2, Cyrus Group announced that its holding subsidiary, Selis Motor, intends to acquire 919 registered or applied text and graphics trademarks held by Huawei Technology Co., Ltd. and 44 related design patents for a total of 2.5 billion yuan. In this interview, Yu Chengdong explained the reasons for the transfer of trademarks and other trademarks. Yu Chengdong said that the transfer of the "Mengjie" trademark to Selis is in accordance with the requirements of national laws and regulations, the brand and the manufacturer must be integrated, and the brand must be owned by the manufacturer. Therefore, subsequent "intellectual circles", "enjoy the world", "respect the boundary" and other brands will also be transferred to the corresponding producers, that is, Chery, BAIC and Jianghuai according to the requirements of the laws and regulations.

Official figures show that Hongmeng Zhihang sold a total of 194207 vehicles in the first half of 2024, of which the Mengjie brand created in partnership with Cyrus is the main source of sales. At present, Hongmeng Zhixing is accelerating the iterative process of product renewal. Among them, the first brand-sharing model jointly launched by Huawei and BAIC, the Hengjie S9, was ordered in May and is expected to sell for 45-550000 yuan. It will be launched in August. The car is located in medium and large sedans, with single-motor models and dual-motor models in power, and competitors lock in Audi A8 and Mercedes-Benz S-Class products. In addition, the Wisdom R7, the second production car of the Zhijie brand, has also appeared in the latest declaration catalogue of the new car released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which is expected to go on sale this year.

As Hongmeng Zhixing's lineup continues to expand, follow-up sales may be able to further boost. It is worth mentioning that Yu Chengdong, managing director of Huawei and chairman of smart car solution BU, revealed at the China Electric vehicle Centenary Forum in 2024 that Huawei's smart car selection business had turned into profit in the first quarter of this year, and the smart car solution BU business was close to the edge of break-even. It is expected that from April, Huawei may be able to turn losses into profits and show benign positive development.
