On July 21, Ji Yue Motors released its second production model, the Ji Yue 07 silver gray car lacquer version, and the new car may go on sale in September.

Ji Yue 07 first unveiled the mass production concept car at the 2022 Guangzhou Auto Show. In December 2023, Ji Yue Motors announced that the car was officially named Ji Yue 07, positioning a pure electric medium-sized car. The Ji Yue 07 is the second production model and the first car under the Ji Yue Motors. The first model, Ji Yue 01, went on sale in October 2023.

Judging from the latest official picture, the new car adopts the family design style, the front face adopts the closed intake grille design that is very popular in electric cars nowadays, the light groups on both sides show the shape of "Y" letter, and the lamp groups are connected by U-shaped daily light belts, bringing good visual impact. Officials say the Ji Yue 07 is equipped with intelligent interactive headlights with a 15mm x 80mm far and near light module inside the lamp group. In addition, the dual lidar is located inside the lamp group on both sides of the front bumper.

On the side of the body, the new car adopts a slip-back coupe design style, and the straight and sharp waistline extends to both sides of the taillight group. in addition, the new car also uses hidden door handles and low wind resistance wheels, resulting in a strong sense of movement as a whole. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4963/1989/1475mm and the wheelbase is 3013mm. As a comparison, the length, width and height of polar krypton 007 of the same class are 4865/1900/1450mm and the wheelbase is 2928mm. In contrast, except for the wheelbase, the new car has more advantages in terms of length, width and height.

In the rear part, the new car taillight adopts a slender through lamp group design, and both sides also show the shape of the "Y" letter, which echoes with the headlight group and has a high degree of recognition. The rear of the new car is also equipped with a sports tail that can rise and fall, the charging port is arranged under the taillight on the left rear side of the car, and the "Jiyue 07" sign is located under the front and rear license plate frame of the vehicle.

The interior part has not been disclosed by the official. In the power part, the new car is equipped with the motor provided by Weirui Electric vehicle Technology (Ningbo) Co., Ltd., the high-end model is equipped with dual motors, the standard version is equipped with a single motor, and the peak power of a single motor is 200 kilowatts. The new car is equipped with 71.4 kilowatt-hours and 100 kilowatt-hours battery packs, of which the pure electric mileage of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the 71.4 kilowatt-hour battery model is 660 kilometers, and the pure electric mileage of the 100 kilowatt-hour battery model is divided into 770 kilometers (four-wheel drive) and 880 kilometers (rear drive).

Jiyue Motor, formerly known as Jidu Automobile, Geely and Baidu announced a partnership in January 2021, followed by the establishment of Jidu Automobile Co., Ltd in March. In December 2022, Jidu Automobile's first production car, the ROBO-01, was unveiled, which is based on the vast architecture of Geely SEA and is positioned as a medium and large SUV. At the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, it was revealed that Jidu Automobile had been rejected by the organizers because it did not have the qualification to build cars, so the wind direction of Geely and Baidu co-building cars also became very confused. Until August 2023, Geely controller announced the establishment of its new car robot brand "Ji Yue", and the first model was named "Ji Yue 01". As a result, Jidu Automobile changed its name to Ji Yue Automobile, and Ji du ROBO-01 also became Ji Yue 01.

The Ji Yue 01 is the first model of the Ji Yue car, with a current price range of 219900-309900 yuan, and provides single-motor and dual-motor models. Among them, the single motor version of the maximum power 200kW, peak torque 343 N ·m, dual motor version of the maximum power 400kW, peak torque 686 N ·m. From the perspective of battery life, the mileage of single motor + 71.4kWh lithium iron phosphate battery CLTC comprehensive condition is 550km; single motor + 100kWhternary lithium battery fully charged CLTC comprehensive condition mileage 720km; dual motor + 100kWhternary lithium battery fully charged CLTC comprehensive condition mileage 660km.

Retail data show that in the first half of this year, the cumulative sales of Ji Yue 01 was 2700 vehicles, with an average monthly sales of 450s, which is a far cry from the mainstream models on the market.

From the perspective of the positioning of Ji Yue 07, the new car will also compete with Tesla Model 3, polar krypton 007, BMW i3 and other models after the launch. As the second production model of Jiyue Automobile, Jiyue previously said it was confident of winning the title of the most beautiful hatchback in 2024. It should be noted that the current competition in this segment is particularly fierce, as to whether the emergence of Ji Yue 07 can boost the sales of Ji Yue cars, the price of new cars may play a key role.
