Among them, the ID.4 X, based on the world's first all-electric SUV ID.4 of the Volkswagen brand, went on sale in January 2021 with a price range of 199888 yuan to 272888 yuan. It is SAIC-Volkswagen's first all-electric model, also known as the ID. The first model of the series, the positioning compact pure electric SUV;ID.3, is the third model based on the Volkswagen MEB platform, which went on sale in October 2021 with a price starting at 159888 yuan.

As one of the earliest joint ventures in China, SAIC-Volkswagen's sales in the field of new energy vehicles are still under pressure, like most traditional car companies, although the electrified layout of SAIC-Volkswagen is changing very quickly. Retail figures show that in the first half of 2024, ID.3 sold 37400 vehicles, ID.4 CROZZ 20000 and ID.4 X 1.26, compared with 4476 for ID.4 CROZZ, 2790 for ID.6 CROZZ and 1252 for ID.6 X. In other words, SAIC-Volkswagen does not have a popular pure electric model at present.

In the face of the challenges of the new automobile era, SAIC Volkswagen urgently needs to launch models with more popular style potential. From the point of view of the price of the two models, compared with the old model, the price of the new car has been reduced, as to whether it can boost sales in the future remains to be verified. Volkswagen's chief executive said today that pure electric vehicles are expected to account for about 9% to 10% of sales for the rest of the year.
